Hi Adam,

I haven't had that particular side effect, but I do have burning stomach

pains after I take d-ribose. I am so disappointed because I have never gotten

such energy from anything else during my 15 year bout with this illness. I am

hoping that someone can respond and help us out here. Are you taking the

powder in water? Juice? Is there another way to get this stuff into the body?

I don't think injections would work because it wears off too quickly.

Take care,

Maxine

That sounds like when I used to get Niacin flushes before I switched to the

non-flushing formulary. Hmmm. Interesting!

Hi all,

I have tried the D-ribose from Dr M too. I couldn't tolerate it even in

the tiniest bit on the tip of my tongue. I first tried with the 5ml tsp

as suggested but it took my breath away (almost literally). I became

winded and short of breath, bad chest symptoms and extreme weakness.

Kept trying at it but my body really was telling me that it couldn't

cope. I have had the ATP profile done and a lot of things are very low

- my ATP levels generally were amongst the lowest she had seen.

Hi and thanks for your replies about your experiences with D-ribose.

Though I have the side effects of prickly and heat and literally turning red. I

have learnt that I should try to avoid activity for an hour after taking this. I

do not suffer from any other physical side effects. I can't complain about these

symptoms as I would much rather try a treatment in the hope that it helps rather

than moaning over the side effects when it doesn't. In cases where there are

side effects and these are listed as complaints these are just used by the

medical authorities in trying to take any self help treatment away from the

patient. (These comments are not made as a reply to any who have been kind

enough to respond :))

I am interested in other experiences and pleased to hear about cases where folk

have find that D-ribose has helped them.

I am also interested in the ATP test as it would appear to show whether the body

is making enough or if the body is mobilising what ATP it makes.
