***I understand your concern, but I don't know if RenewPro does have casein in

it given the way it made is different than the typical whey proteins out there.

Thus, it may still be up your alley!

***Check with Well Wisdom, RenewPro's manufacturer, at 800-735-1003 to be sure.

The can for it has advice on the outside label that says you can mix it with

water, juice, milk or dairy substitute.

***The fact that they're stating " dairy substitute " like this tells me there may

be hope for you in using this product. Check with them though.

Thanks, but I seriously doubt I could tolerate it. In the past, whey

products, including immunocal, have all aggravated my joint pain.

***Got it. All I'm suggesting is that not all whey products are the same and if

casein is your concern it sounds like RenewPro may not have this. Of course you

should verify this before making a purchase.

***The other issue is you may have a sulfur sensitivity for which there seem to

be a few ways to work around with supplements so sulfur based products like whey

proteins might become tolerable. Check recent archives here from the past few

weeks for discussions on how to verify and go about this.

I would guess the best non dairy whey protein would be Goatein, its from goats

milk products. I'm not sure its been proven as a glutathione builder, but I've

heard of different people doing well on it for various reasons.

N acetylcysteine is the ultimate glutathione booster.

While less common, cysteine is also available and works quite well.

There are also 4:2:1 mixtures of cysteine to glutamine to glycine

available which provide exactly the building blocks of glutathione in

the right ratio.

Do be aware that if your joint pain from whey is because your plasma

cysteine gets elevated that taking a bunch of NAC will leave you

feeling like someone beat you with a baseball bat, so you might want

to try it CAREFULLY.

Andy,

Do you worry about using NAC with mercury fillings still present and being high

in mercury and not having been able to chelate out with DMSA yet causing

problems? Like moving merc into the brain, etc?

Thanks! Marcia

Hi, Andy.

> N acetylcysteine is the ultimate glutathione booster.

***Well, it's questionable to take if it creates problems with moving mercury

into the brain and increases gut microbe growth because of these bugs feeding on

the cysteine. Both of these problems happened with me when I tried

n-acetylcysteine(NAC) tablets, before I moved on to RenewPro to treat my

ME/CFS(Also, RenewPro doesn't appear to have casein in it which is often the

concern for some regarding dairy)

*** Quig, Ph.D., the well regarded heavy metal toxicoligist has a paper out

that also says NAC can move mercury into the brain, particularly at doses above

300mg per day. RenewPro has the benefit of not only providing 250mg of cysteine

per rounded scoop and the other key glutathione precursors in one fell swoop,

but it also provides lactoferrin.

***Lactoferrin is considered to be good at suppressing gut microbe growth that

might be nutured by cysteine ingestion.

***RenewPro is one of these plus it has the other few helpful additions I've

already touched upon.

***I had joint pain and elevated plasma cysteine before I ever took RenewPro and

taking it certainly has NOT exacerbated these problems

that taking a bunch of NAC will leave you feeling like someone beat you with a

baseball bat, so you might want

to try it CAREFULLY.
