: You said you are not sleeping at night? Have you tried melatonin? My

fibro doctor recommends 9-10 mg per night for his patients and it really helped

me. It took six months (along with my food allergy diet and antiviral meds) to

get some rest but I feel so much better and now take only 3 mg at night (a

calcium/Vit B and melatonin mix by Natrol) and sleep all night except for 1-3

times to pee. in La Selva Beach CA

[Norton AntiSpam] Re: thyroid med question

You said: I just don't sleep well, period, and my awake times are pretty

up-and-down too (functional vs sluggish). I don't much care when I sleep -- as

I do work from my home. I just like to get some real sleep once in a while but

also have some kind of a more productive day/work life too. It's all too

screwed up right now.

,

I am sorry. My messages got out of order. I read this after I posted about

melatonin.

Oops,

l-Tryptophan and its derivative, 5-htp, are amino acids. They are not herbs.

But, go visit the herb shop anyway.....

All right. Thanks, Ellen. (I'm going to see what I can see at the

I'm probably going to get labeled as the Beyond a Century groupie, but I

wanted to let you know they carry it, very affordably, as usual. You can

order over the phone, as I do.

Can you clarify what you mean by " I get weird " ? I am just curious because I

haven't been on melatonin all that long, and like I said, I am breast

feeding. I was told there were virtually no side effects to melatonin.

Thanks,

Dawn

Hi Dawn - Like anything, some people will have a reaction to Melatonin.

One possible side effect is it can cause some people to become very

anxious.

Take care.
