Guest guest
Hi Ellen I suspect th reason manuka helped me was that I had cleared alot og the heavy metals , parasites, bacterial, fungal infections first via Whey protein / lactoferrin / coconut oil . I used a a small amount first thing in the morninig on an empty stomach. Regards CS

My jar doesn't give any recommendations, however, one website I read suggested 1 tbsp - 2 times per day, once in the morning and then again in the evening. It didn't mention doing this on an empty stomach. Eating two tablespoons per day, my jar will be empty in six days. At $22.00 Cdn per 8 oz. jar I couldn't afford to keep using this stuff on a regular basis. I wonder if it would work as well by adding it to boiled water and making a tea out of it?? What do you think of the taste? It certainly isn't like any other honey I've eaten before, and it certainly isn't as sweet. Take care. Guest guest
Hi Ellen, I'm not cs but I've found a small amount dissolved in hot water is pretty good - add lemon juice if you like too. Rosie Subject: CS-- manuka honey CS, I bought some manuka honey to see if it would have any effect on my digestive troubles. Do you use it in the same way that they suggest, 1 teaspoon on a cracker or cracker equivalent on an empty stomach 20 minutes before a meal? Or do you use it in some other way? I tried it the recommended way and I know I'm not going to be able to keep it up because it just wrecks my appetite to eat a big glob of something sweet right before a meal. I was hoping you found a different way to use it and still get results. Thanks, Ellen This list is intended for patients to share personal experiences with each other, not to give medical advice. Guest guest
Hi Just caught up with the post and CS saying that boiled water will kill the active parts of manuka honey - pity as this is the nicest way to take it . Guest guest
Hi If you take a small amount and place it in your mouth and make sure your saliva dilutes it in your mouth before swallowing this will have greater beneficial effects i have found. Guest guest
CS, Considering the high price of this substance, could you please be more specific about what the " small amount " is? Guest guest
Bernie, Going on what I was told, and what CS is saying, 2 tablespoons -- that's 6 teaspoons -- sounds like way too much. But there's no getting around the fact that this is expensive stuff, especially if you're thinking of using it long-term. I'm not sure about conversion between American versus Canadian dollars, but I think I'm getting a better deal than you are: $26 for a 17 ounce jar. I got it at http://www.manukahoneyusa.com/. I would imagine that in spite of their name they do ship to Canada. The theory behind their recommendation of taking it with a bite of bread or cracker is that it will sit in your stomach for a longer time doing its work, rather than passing through quickly. As for the taste, I like it. It tastes like other wildflower honeys I've had. Ellen > Hi Ellen - I was also going to ask this same question. If I should decide to order more again in the future I will definitely order from the internet. Even with the exchange rate and shipping it will still be much cheaper than buying it locally. Thanks for the link to the web-site. Take care. Bernie
Guest guest
The small amount is going to be individual to you. I tried a sixth of a teaspoon and build up from that . regards CS
Guest guest
I have a feeling that you may need to clear other infections first before getting benefits from Manuka honey. regards CS
