Guest guest
and all The 9 to 10 mg dose of Melatonin is being used to ehlp folks with Alzheimer's Sundowners problem go to sleep. There's been some research on that. I prefer the l-Tryptophan which makes serotonin out of which melatonin gets made. I get weird if I take just Melatonin after about the second or third day, even in very tiny doses. In a message dated 3/7/2006 12:23:26 AM Eastern Standard Time, kcapel@... writes: Hi . Yes, I do take melatonin. And that's the only time I can sleep for 4-5 hours straight, then get up for an hour or two (...or three or four sometimes), and then sleep some more. I've never taken that much though -- 3 or 9-10 mg? I remember reading some studies when melatonin first becamse popular and they came to the conclusion (I thought) that amounts beyond a few hundred micrograms were of no benefit. I used to be able to find 200 micrograms and that helped me. Lately, I've not been able to find smaller than 300 micrograms, so that's what I've been buying. This, plus the diphenhydramine, is what helps me sleep 4-5 hours. mjh " The Basil Book " http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/

Guest guest
Talk about coincidence! I just yesterday picked up a gobbler at the grocery store. Thanks, mjh. In addition, I will look at the little herb shop that's near me. > > Hiya > > I get l-Tryptophan online at iherb.com or at _www.pathmed.com_ > (http://www.pathmed.com) new netrient site. > > 5-htp is a step away from l-Tryptophan. > > I have never seen l-Tryptophan in healthfoodstores or at Whole Foods. 5-htp > is readily available, but when I tried it many years ago, I did not find it > effective. > > Now, just make yourself a bed time snack.... and get the l- Tryptophan that > way. > > Roast a turkey, no stuffing, but seasonings are OK. > > Eat about 4 ounces an hour before bedtime.
