Guest guest
Sara My late son was on antibiotics signficantly at different times in his life. He never got fungal issues. BUT I made and fed him yoghurt two and three times daily, between the antibiotic doses. He also drank a gallon of aloe vera juice several times a year. Guest guest
--Hi Gigi might be someone to ask. In the longer term are you thinking of being checked over by a good Biological Dentist? Its great you are planning to be a Publisher! I am going to the London May 12 conference with Kerr,Hooper,Puri etc so let me know if you if there is anything you want me to do on your behalf there. Guest guest
I did find a good dentist who repaired the problem the first one created, as best he could. His name is Hindin and he works next to Dr. Schachter, a holistic doc, they're about an hour north of me. I have more work to be done but just put it off for a few more weeks. I have some ideas for self publishing although this will be a new venture that I have to research a bit. I think my idea is pretty good and relatively simple and will help a lot of people. We'll see. It's just that I used to be a book editor, and at times I've been a magazine editor and may be so shortly again, so I " see " books and their potential. Like I see that Rich could do something very valuable with his overview, if he gets the time. And a friend sent me a wonderful book she wrote that I'm not sure a regular publisher knows how to publish. But I'm unlikely to actually get into publishing others, though in a few years, you never know. What you might want to do, Wallace, is make podcasts from their lectures to put on the web, if they're not doing it, and if they're open to it. > > > > So. Guest guest
Have you tried guaifenesin? Or something like that to assist the drainage? Also, H2O2 in the ears might help some. SPAM-MED: Sinusitis/Ear advice anyone So. Since I had the dentist from hell and the tooth extraction fracture from hell, and took, for me, a lot of antibiotics (3 grams a day of amoxy for 7 days, and then off and on, more off than on, nonetheless, more amoxy for the next few weeks) I have developed a sinusitis and ear stuffiness, maybe not from hell, but from purgatory. I already apparently had low grade sinusitis but not like this. It just proves why I, personally, hate antibiotics. They partially clear up something while you're on them and it comes back worse with lots of fungus added into the mix. Anybody have any ideas? Here's what I've been doing: 1) Allicin 2) Oregano oil 3) Grossan irrigator with salt (doesn't do much but it feels good) 4) Steaming with teatree oil sometimes but I don't like that, that much. I was thinking of taking bloodroot, or biocidin, I think I have that somewhere around here. I bought mucolytic type enzymes but they didn't have a big effect. You won't be surprised to hear it gets worse with dairy and starches. This list is intended for patients to share personal experiences with each other, not to give medical advice. Guest guest
Thanx Kurt. I use h202 in the ears. I don't really want to use a drug (guaifenesin). I think is the result of the amoxicillin killing some bacteria, then causing a rebound of more bacteria, plus creating a fungal sinusitis and more allergies. > > Have you tried guaifenesin? As a rule, I can't take ANY antibiotics without accompanying them with liberal doses of diflucan. The literally head-to-toe yeast and fungal overgrowths will make me miserable in just a few days if I don't also take the antifungal every other night for the duration. I'm taking steps to get myself tested for Lyme, per the suggestions on this list. I'm already a bit queasy at the thought of taking 9 months of antibiotics -- including 12 weeks of erythromycin and another 12 of doxycycline, both of which I tolerate both extremely poorly -- and am expecting to spend the duration mostly in bed as a result. Factoring in the likely fungal side effects is horrible to contemplate. (Hey, it's just another year of my life. I've already lost 10 or 12 of them; what's one more?) Given these reactions, it's gonna be as disruptive to my life as doing Marshall for nine months would be. I'm not looking forward to it. But if it gets me well at last...*sigh*....it might be worth it. Sara
Guest guest
I can't tolerate the diflucan, too much nausea and liver pain even though liver enzymes don't get elevated. But my body rebels. You don't need 9 months of antibiotics, you're doing okay now, you're feeling better! There are Chinese herbs you can take. If you do test positive, ask on the list. I have various things I have to take care of, but I do want to get to the Chinese herbs. Its just one thing at a time. My friend chelated her metals after 8 years of lyme and finally was able to tolerate high dose Chinese herbs and is improving. Before she chelated her metals she could not. So its very important to do things in order. > > > Thanx Kurt. I use h202 in the ears. I don't really want to use a drug > > (guaifenesin). So its very important to do > things in order. Good point. I usually try the natural option before resorting to the medical one (it's just less complicated that way). But I'm not familiar with natural ways of curing Lyme. I've been on chelating stuff for about five years now. Tim Guilford put me on a year of chlorella for mercury; and also about 2 mg of NAC daily, which I've taken ever since. I'm also injecting 3ml of glutathione every 5 days or so since August. At this point, it's not likely that free-floating metals are a huge issue. ly, my experience with Chinese herbs is that they're noxious- tasting, and a huge hassle to prepare and take to boot. I have a hard time staying with them for the months you usually have to do get results. Is there really any evidence that they cure Lyme for good? As you say, I'm feeling much better these days. Which, as it turns out, only makes me less patient with stuff that doesn't go to the heart of the matter. Hovering here at the 85% level, I'm at the point where I want a cure -- I'm not interested in noodling around with anything unless it gives me a good shot at full recovery. (It's kind of ironic that success actually makes one more, rather than less, impatient with mere hope.) From here, the only next steps worth pursuing are those that seem most likely to effect a full cure. Right now, this is a very short list: 1. Get a good Lyme test, explore other possible chronic long-term infections, and resolve them. 2. Get my heart checked out to make sure it hasn't been damaged by all this. Viral myocarditis is the leading cause of death in my mother's family, claiming 50% of her ancestors before the age of 60. (My grandmother died at 59. One aunt had it at 50, and spent 7 months in the hospital. Another aunt got a new heart at 60. Even without ME, the risks here are stacked much too high for comfort. With ME, it's overwhelming -- and frightening. And, on top of that, I'm finding lately that the only time I crash any more is when I allow my heart rate to rise above 120 bpm -- not a good sign at all.) 3. Work Rich's methylation protocol 4. Try Recup That should take most of the next year to work through. Fortunately, I've got an appointment with an allegedly ME-literate internist in downtown Vancouver next week. I hope he'll be able to help me with some of this stuff. (Anybody got dish to share on a Dr. Dunne?) Sara

There is not good evidence that chlorella effectively chelates mercury, and in fact, I heard of one person who had impure chlorella and got mercury toxic from it. Secondly, NAC and glutathione are only mild chelators. SO you may still have heavy metals (and then again may not). > > ly, my experience with Chinese herbs is that they're noxious- > tasting, and a huge hassle to prepare and take to boot. No, there are no double blind studies or trials, only anecdotal evidence. She uses 7Forests and so did somebody else and his wife, on lymenet, who did well. Its individual. THey do not need to be prepared. By the way, there is a great center in Vancouver...I wish I could remmeber the name, but I used it a few times when I visited for a few weeks. They have a HUGE hyperbaric chamber and will offer lower pressure dives (1.5), they also give vitamin/mineral IV's, DMSO by IV (I recall a girl suicidal from RSD getting that), infrared saunas, clay baths and the whole kit and kaboodle. I'm sure if you google hyperbaric and vancouver you'll figure out where it was--I had to take a " tram " there from Yaletown.
Guest guest
Understand. Although I too have P450 system sensitivities and do fine with Guai, I think it is cleared mostly through kidneys. But maybe if you have kidney issues Guai would not work well. I use only low-doses. What about the natural remides? One that many people swear is the only thing to clear sinusitis and ears is to chew on raw horseradish and stop dairy until it resolves. --Kurt SPAM-MED: Sinusitis/Ear advice anyone > > So. Guest guest
I was thinking of cayenne. Horseradish is good too. I have gone off my allicin, it may have been inflaming the tissue a bit while killing fungal stuff. It is a rock and a hard place. The allicin is quite strong, but it constipates me and it causes inflammation (or else, the dieoff causes inflammation) > > > > Have you tried guaifenesin?
