Guest guest
Naomi, I knew from using taurox (beneficial) and beta glucans (disastrous) that immune modulators had an effect on me. What I noticed very shortly after starting ProBoost was slightly increased energy. At first I took one a day and after three days I felt the way I felt when I had overstimulated my immune system previously, which was exhausted, weaker, and more inflamed (or joint pain). So I stopped taking it. I noticed the next day that I felt a little better again, so I started using half a packet (about 1/8 of a teaspoon) daily and got the same benefit. I still have to watch it; when I start to feel a little more inflammatory, I skip a day. I think half a packet every other day works for me (about as well as ProBoost will ever work for me). Perhaps ProBoost is aggravating an autoimmune response for you, but whatever the reason I would definitely suggest cutting back. Lay off it for a while, then maybe try something like my approach. Maybe even a smaller dosage. I don't believe in pushing yourself to tolerate something (that you might never tolerate) when you're in such a weakened condition. Have you tried taurox (the 7x-- lower strength)? It seems like a gentler product. Guest guest
Hi Naomi, Sorry to hear proboost is giving you a reaction. Thank you for reporting it to the group. I went to the proboost web page and it said; http://www.proboostmed.com/faq.html#5 12. Have any negative side effects been reported? No serious side effects have been reported. In a few cases, people have experience very mild like flu symptoms when first starting ProBoost®. Shortly thereafter the symptoms subside. These initial symptoms occur because by taking ProBoost® you are activating the immune system. This seemingly negative effect is actually the beneficial effects of your own immune system to fight. I know for me I've had to be very careful of what I take, no matter what the doctors said. Also at the fibromyalgia and fatigue center they wanted to do 3 things for me. One was the immune system. (proboost) 2 was helping the mitochondrial. (NT factor and/or ENADA) 3 is balancing the hormones which for now gives me too much of a side effect, but will do it after the immune system is restored. Do you have any big signs that the immune-system is having trouble. Like for me every time I drank a big glass of orange juice I get a blister. And on very cold nights when the heater ran a lot I was much weaker, the next day? Is this Herxing? What do I do about it? Stop the Proboost entirely? Cut the dose and the frequency until I no longer have this reaction? Suggestions would be most appreciated! Also, Ellen: when you take 1/2 the Proboost every other day, how does this help you? Naomi Weisstein --------------------------------- Relax. virus scanning helps detect nasty viruses! Is this Herxing? Possibly. PB will cause herxing as your immune system kicks back into action and starts taking care of business. I had all sorts of little low-grade immune reactions always going on in various corners of my body. Once I got on ProBoost, these resolved amazingly quickly -- but I was good and sick for a week or 10 days while that was happening. > What do I do about it? Some of us can't tolerate three packs a day, which is where many practitioners suggest we start. Some of us can't take two. I found I got very good results on one, only taking a second one when I'm clearly fighting a cold or flu. Expect the herx to last anywhere from 10 days to a month, and take it easy until it's over. Guest guest
Hi Ellen, Sara, Ron and Everybody: Thanks everybody for the thoughtful advice on Proboost. My reaction-- enormous fatigue and increased vertigo -- scares me. I'd like to continue until its over, but I have the nagging worry that it wont be over. Meanwhile, I'm going to cut down to 1/2 packet very 4 days, and see how that goes. Thanks again for the avidce and the encouragement. I'll let you know what happens.
