Guest guest
: The first thing Dr. Dantini did was the food allergy test and the antiviral test (not as inclusive as some mentioned here of 40 or more viruses, but I tested high for four viruses ~ herpes simplex, herpes 6, EBV and parvo virus). The food allergy test company (Sage) was the best I've experienced and I've had three tests done in my lifetime; their report not only included what I could NOT eat, but what I could eat and even some recipes and shopping suggestions. So I did the food allergy rotation diet (easier for me since I did this 30 years ago and there were very few recipes or alternative grain options out there then) and started on the antiviral medications. It took me six months (Dr. Dantini said it took him nine months), but that seventh month was amazing. I do well now sticking with as natural a diet as possible, know I should do all organic but can't afford it completely, and shop at the health food stores and Trader Joe's a lot. If I cheat too much I throw up that night and learned it's not worth messing around with it. Restaurants are very understanding if you tell them you have food allergies and ask them to leave stuff out of what they fix for you. I eat well now with meat and salad and veggies, an occasional dessert. The other thing he worked on was the sleep issue~a huge issue for most of us. His theory is that melatonin of 5-10 mg at night 1/2 hour before bed was good. I was on 9 mg for the first six months, then went to 6 mg, now on 3 mgs a night. I found Natrol Melatonin with B-6, calcium and melatonin works really well for me. I also had to go on HRT as I was getting the crawling hot flushes every hour at night and wasn't sleeping. We tried changing the mattress and pillows, the rheumatologist (I have osteoarthritis of the spine), etc. to rule out all other stuff to make sure I would sleep properly. I cannot travel too long without breaks or even too long anyway, airplanes kill me as I can't move around enough, I have to have more than 7 hours in bed or I am a wreck. The schedule that works best for me and my part-time work is to go to bed at 10:30 PM, read awhile while the melatonin starts working, I wake a couple of hours later to use the bathroom, then sleep really well until 4-6 when I have to go pee again (or the cat wakes me up) and twice nightly is very normal, then sleep really well from 6 or 7 AM until I awaken at 8:30 or 9:00 AM, go to work one day a week at 10 until 6. I do not eat processed foods unless out or traveling; carry snacks around lots. I tried staying a vegetarian but that is out because I am allergic to most vegetarian food products, so eat Biblically clean meats and buy the best I can (organic) and eat raw nuts, and I use Real Salt which I love (suggested on this site). I started Recuperation a year ago and have had wonderful success with energy levels and healthier hair and nails. I still have muscle pain, but not as bad as before, and no more post-exertional malaise. I want to do things and I can now!!! I mowed the lawn last week and had mild muscle soreness. He's big on calcium and magnesium supplements, but you have to experiment on what brand and what dose works for you. There are constant suggestions on this website. Personally for supplements I use a lot of Source Natural, Natrol, Twinlab and Pharmanex products. I use Klamath Spirulina and Pharmanex Overdrive for extra energy, I use Source Natural Cal-Ultra Night at bedtime and Fibroresponse during the day, Natrol's CMO (cetyl myristoleate for arthritis symptoms) and Melatonin, Pharmenx Cortitrol (it relaxes my stress levels which have been high for years and there is very little to be done to reduce what life is throwing at our family at the moment), Bone and Cartilage, and LifePak Prime (multivitamin). Yes, I am a distributor for Pharmanex and get some benefits, but I truly believe in their products. When I feel like taking a lot of extra pills (and need to more) I take Twinlab Stress-B Complex, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and other stuff by Source Naturals (Vitamin D, Quercetin, etc.). I have allergies so am on Advair inhaler, Allegra and Nasonex. Just had two rounds of antibiotics for sinus infections with this California flu that hit me this year. Haven't been sick for awhile~some suggest the Recup is readjusting my thermostat (I am warmer than before but still sleep with long-johns and flannel sheets while living on the coast) and my immune system is balancing. Just wish I wouldn't have been sick, but my CFS/FMS symptoms were better while sick with the flu~go figure. I don't know if any of this helps, but hope so. I remind myself that so many others have told us, we are sick for a lot of years and it takes a long time to recover, but it is happening with a lot of people. in La Selva Beach CA Re: EBV/Mono Symptoms hi leslie: does dantini do any other treatment beside the valtrex and zantac. i consulted with him a few times and did feel a bit better on that treatment...i think i gave up on it abit too quickly...are there other things he's recommended? he's a very kind man. tx, lisa
Guest guest
I agree, Dr. Dantini is a gem. I found him online in 2003 and he worked with me through 2005 to get me on the road to better health through antiviral medications and food allergies issues. My original labs in 2003 were HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS AB-IGG 3.91 (very high), HSV2 AB-IGG 0.13, EBV AB-IGG 5.96, PARVOVIRUS AB B19 IGG/IGM 0.3, HERPES 6 AB-IGG/IGM 40 (VERY HIGH), CYTOMEGALOVIRUS AB-IGG WAS NEGATIVE (but slightly positive in 2005) In fact I just found some of my paperwork for 2005 when my local doctor did retested for viruses (PARVOVIRUS B19 ABS IGG/M, LYME DISEASE AB IGG/M, EBV-EARLY ANTIGEN, CYTOMEGALOVIRUS AB-IGG/IGM, CYTOMEGALOVIRUS AB-IGM, etc.). I was so sick that I didn't remember doing all these tests. I just found my binder that had all my test results. These were all done through QUEST. In 2005 Lyme was all negative and nonreactive. Cytomegalovirus AB-IGG was 0, with the Cytopmegalovirus AB-IGM 0.2, Parvo AB B19 IGG was 6.6 (high) although the other parts of the parvovirus were 0.2. EBV was 96 (very high, is supposed to be less than 20), and this reactivates often giving me sore throat glands and tiredness. Dr. Dantini's comment to me was that I was one very sick lady. Yay, I still think, as I thought back then, someone who finally understands and gets it!!!! I haven't had current tests as we are no longer on a health insurance plan. in La Selva Beach CA On 2/29/2012 6:01 AM, Joy wrote: > > Thank you - maybe your list can help others that are seeking > providers.
