Guest guest
I just got a flyer from the FFC about a seminar on male hormones. After a little research, I discoverd that when the male hormones are messed up, the symptoms are very similar to CFS (but not FM). On the LEF website, there is a male hormone panel for sale. I was wondering if anyone had pursued the male hormone deficit angle(it is more than low testosterone) and had any success. Obviously this post is primarily for the guys on the list. Mike C (Below is what the panel consists of) Chemistry Panel/CBC This panel is a comprehensive blood evaluation consisting of 35 tests Free Testosterone This test is used to evaluate function in clinical states where the testosterone binding proteins may be altered Testosterone, Total This test is used to evaluate gonadal and adrenal function. It is also helpful in diagnosing hypogonadism, Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) Sulfate This test is used to identify the source of excessive androgen (hirsutism and/or virilization), and in the identification of adrenocortical disease including congenital adrenal hyperplasia and adrenal tumors. Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) PSA is produced by normal, hyperplastic, and cancerous prostatic tissue. Estradiol This test is used to assess hypothalamic and pituitary functions. In males it is helpful in the assessment of gynecomastia or feminization syndromes. This test is intended for use in screening individuals who may be at risk for heart disease and stroke.
