Guest guest
****I believe that I cannot overemphasize the benefit that the CFS community will receive from what they have already done, in terms of developing an understanding of the fundamental dysfunctions in the sulfur metabolism (methionine cycle, transsulfuration pathway, sulfoxidation, and the glutathione system) and in determining which supplements will remedy them. ***** Rich - Im looking into supplements that can help with methioninee ie TMG and Glutathione I have covered with Whey protein. BUT what supplements help with these other pathways which I havent really heard much about: transsulfuration pathway AND sulfoxidation ( or are these just umbrella terms ) ?? Guest guest
Hi, CS. Vitamin B6 or its active form pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P5P) is helpful for the transsulfuration pathway. It's very important to take magnesium together with the B6. In autism, the B6 and magnesium combination is much more successful than B6 alone. It's the best studied treatment in the DAN! survey. 47% got better, 49% had no effect, and 4% got worse, with 5,780 total cases reporting. Molybdenum is sometimes helpful for sulfoxidation. But if you are not sensitive to foods and supplements that contain sulfur, you probably don't have a sulfoxidation problem.
