Guest guest
Hi Jennie, No, it doesn't make sense. And Hillenbrand will not provide any proof that is does work -- it's all theory. She also removes questions from her message board that asks for proof or disagrees with her " discovery " . Doesn't want anyone rockin' the boat. Keep in mind she's not a doctor, yet she's claiming to have found a cure for fibro, and offers advice on prescription drugs to people desperate to get well. (Also recommends TUMS, a calcium supplement loaded with artificial colors and flavors. Not good.) If anything, her so-called protocol just suppresses symptoms for some people with too much stomach acid, it does nothing to actually treat or cure fibromyalgia. Just my two cents, Dan > > http://www.fibrofix.com/DISCOVERIES.html > > Does it make any sense to those of you who understand the chemistry > and physiology of fibro better than I do? > > You can see the rest of their site by clicking on the HOME button at > the bottom of the page. >
Guest guest
Thanks for posting this. Search old posts here for " guai " and you will find more info. Here's another web site on guai: http://f4.grp.fs.com/v1/8F64QzZLxVnOJ9JwXmextf3zGKmbG0KWI7NHQmGxP_g XErhe3zJrqK7-rCSeB9Gd0Cb4eKmScRQ6SDboTHVysBIJzWeubA/RTFWeb% 20Fibroguai.htm > > http://www.fibrofix.com/DISCOVERIES.html > > Does it make any sense to those of you who understand the chemistry > and physiology of fibro better than I do? > > You can see the rest of their site by clicking on the HOME button at > the bottom of the page. >
Guest guest
I can't get this to open: http://f4.grp.fs.com/v1/8F64QzZLxVnOJ9JwXmextf3zGKmbG0KWI7NHQmGxP _gXErhe3zJrqK7-rCSeB9Gd0Cb4eKmScRQ6SDboTHVysBIJzWeubA/RTFWeb% 20Fibroguai.htm I get a 404 error page. Is there a shorter link? > > > > http://www.fibrofix.com/DISCOVERIES.html > > > > Does it make any sense to those of you who understand the chemistry > > and physiology of fibro better than I do? > > > > You can see the rest of their site by clicking on the HOME button at > > the bottom of the page. > > >
Guest guest
Sorry, I don't know how to post the whole URL so that it's an active link...you'll have to copy and paste the url into your browser to make it work, or you could google the article: FIBROMYALGIA AND GUAIFENESIN: The right drug for the wrong reason, by Napier There appears to be lots of info out there on guai, I don't know how good this info is. Guai is just one part of the protocol on the fibrofix website, but it seems to be key. > > > > > > http://www.fibrofix.com/DISCOVERIES.html > > > > > > Does it make any sense to those of you who understand the > chemistry > > > and physiology of fibro better than I do? > > > > > > You can see the rest of their site by clicking on the HOME button > at > > > the bottom of the page. > > > > > >
Guest guest
Thank you. I did try to copy and paste into the browser, and I couldn't get that to go anywhere besides another 404 page. I'll try this. Thanks. > > > > > > > > http://www.fibrofix.com/DISCOVERIES.html > > > > > > > > Does it make any sense to those of you who understand the > > chemistry > > > > and physiology of fibro better than I do? > > > > > > > > You can see the rest of their site by clicking on the HOME > button > > at > > > > the bottom of the page. > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
This person's site has many inaccuracies. First, there is no evidence that guaifenesin reduces acid in the body. On the contrary, guaifenesin is metabolized by the body into a form of lactic acid! Secondly, the connection between fibromyalgia and hyaluronic is sketchy at best. Several much more recent studies on this issue (in several different countries), all show the same thing. That a rise in serum hyaluronic acid only occurs in people with fibromyalgia during the morning hours, similar to some forms of arthritis, but that it's normal the rest of the day. And even the elevated levels are still within the normal range, and not necessarily significant. Since the elevated levels occur in the morning, it is probably due to increased physical activity, which increases lymph flow and hyaluronic clearance. The raised levels are not necessarily due to increased production in the body. People with conditions that definitely cause increased hyaluronic acid, have raised levels throughout the day. This is not to say that guaifenesin can't help fibromyalgia, but that's it's almost certainly not causing a lowering of acid. Guest guest
Hi Mark, Your guaifenesin website if stuffed full of information! This, for example: > Also, studies on the muscles of vitamin D deficient patients, show a > reduction of ATP levels, similar to that of fibromyalgia patients... > In some cases, the deficiency leads to myopathy, with quite severe > muscle weakness, especially affecting the legs and ability to walk. Thanks for all your good work. Sue , Upstate New York -------------- > This is not to say that guaifenesin can't help fibromyalgia, but > that's it's almost certainly not causing a lowering of acid.
