Guest guest
Dan I agree for the most part. Guaifenesin is now an OTC and so is the other ingredient in her plan. Dr St Armand developed a protocol helpful to some using guaifenesin with dietary restrictions on salicylates which he says use the same receptor site on the kidneys as does Guai. Lots of herxing as I understand. I think it is healthier to change one's diet to deal with acid reflux and perhaps use MAGNESIUM instead of Calcium (Tums) as an antiacid. Most people are Mg deficient and especially those with FMS. Adding more Calcium just increases the imbalance. Just my two cents..... And Hillenbrand will not provide any proof that is does work -- it's all theory. She also removes questions from her message board that asks for proof or disagrees with her " discovery " . Doesn't want anyone rockin' the boat. Keep in mind she's not a doctor, yet she's claiming to have found a cure for fibro, and offers advice on prescription drugs to people desperate to get well. (Also recommends TUMS, a calcium supplement loaded with artificial colors and flavors. Not good.) If anything, her so-called protocol just suppresses symptoms for some people with too much stomach acid, it does nothing to actually treat or cure fibromyalgia.
