Nil, I haven't ever had pain related to the coffee enemas - my body just appreciates 'em. It sounds like it might not be the right thing for your body. My doc started me on warm water enemas with caprylic acid added before going to coffee. (The caprylic acid helps keep good flora, apparently.) This might be soothing for you. But won't give the specific triggers to the liver that coffee does. Hey! Maybe your liver doesn't want to be triggered. Have you tried castor oil compresses? Very soothing for an unhappy liver.
