And, sudden, unexpected death can feel like a sledge hammer and a betrayal all rolled into one. Please know that it is important that you be authentic in your feelings... all of them. Guest guest
I never really knew except through his posts which I always read for his interesting insights. I think it may have been a post of his to the Co-Cure list about low dose naltrexone that ultimately led me to CFSExperimental. His drive to figure out the mess that he found himself in was apparent and at times reminded me of my own struggles to learn and understand enough to get out of the CFS hole. He will be missed. Tears fill my eyes as I type this... Guest guest
Hi, All. It's hard to tell if this post is true or not given was a frequent but not long term poster on this list. It is a bit suspicious that a post to this list like this has happened so quickly after his apparent death. Perhaps someone here could take it upon themselves to verify its truth through the doctors he stated he was seeing in New York or some other way if that happened to not be his actual name? For the time being, I just want to state that it appears to me that this is a good time to remain engaged and committed to conquering CFS, personally as individuals and community wide. There are no guarantees success and we are often experimenting from hypothetical views with the various treatment suggestions that follow, but a lot does seem to be coming together, much more than ever before. There are good reasons to stick it out for a good while longer, though the misery we endure is absolutely incessant and intense from moment to moment, never mind other life stressors that are inevitably there to deal with as part of the mix. As many of us here have experienced, we've known directly or heard of PWCs who have died by their own hand, by cancer and other ways as well. I'm not blind to the extreme circumstance we're in and the vulnerability to getting permantly derailed from the possibility of attaining true well-being in life. Despite this, however, my message is guard your goal. Stay heads-up, experimenting and don't give up, real miracles do happen! <jasonlbreckenridge@y...> wrote: > > I cannot begin to express to how difficult this is to convey, > however, my friend of the past 15 years, Breckenridge (a very > frequenty poster here, and well known in the CFS community) passed > away overnight on December 16. Guest guest
, Hall, and the group. , thank you for letting us know. This is a terrible loss of a very bright guy. I regret that I did not make more time to interact with him about his ideas. Now is too late. I'm sorry that he suffered such terrible anguish. Before his last message to this list, I had no idea about the conditions under which he was living. I agree with Hall that we need to redouble our efforts to crack CFS. We are involved in a vital pursuit and are very much in a race against time. We also need to take care to be compassionate to each other and to support each other however we can. Internet groups may constitute the only " community " of which many people are able to be a part. I was very much heartened by the caring and practical responses several people made to . I guess we will have to stay tuned to try to understand what happened. Rich > > I totally understand where you are coming from. Guest guest
It seems odd to me too. Why would you have all the same passwords? Who are you? Are you a man or a woman? How did you find out he died? Did his parents tell you? Why wouldn't you post under your own account? Where else are you posting that he has died? > > I totally understand where you are coming from. Guest guest
I did not know but I am just so stuned by this. I had read his plea for help with great anguish. It stayed on my mind; making me feel really sad and angry that someone would have to go through such an ordeal. I totally agree with what Rich said: " We also need to take care to be compassionate to each other and to support each other however we can. " I think this can make SUCH a difference at times. A caring word of support ( even if u don't know the other person; personally or otherwise) can be (maybe even literally) a life-saver. I strongly believe in this. Take care all. a

Guest guest
Yes, I definitely wanted to help, it just seems odd this person is posting from 's account completely anonymously and with no details as to how he was found, where, by whom, when. Guest guest
My name is and I have been s friend for the past 15 years. We grew up together and attended the same schools, college, and held the same jobs. I knew was a member of many CFS discussion groups online, which he devoted his life to after discovering the illness he had, and I knew he would want me to inform those he was close to online of his passing. We've had the same passwords to our accounts for years (ever since the Internet became popular.. 94 or so?). I posted under his name because 1) he was a member of forums I was not a member of and 2) why would anyone believe someone from a different screename. I didn't come online and post word of his death to create a controversy, but simply to let those who he was close to, taught, and learned from of his death. Like I said, I will post for you all the results of the autopsy, as well as links to our cities newspapers obit section for you all to reference. Guest guest
As posted in what I belive to be his last post, his plea, he mentions he lived most of his life in his room, isolated. From what I can gather is this: arrived back from NYC on the 14th or 15th. The exact date I don't know off hand, but check back on his posts and you can find out for sure. He was talking for months about going to visit a Dr there and was very optimistic this would help his fight. The Dr prescribed him a VERY high dosage of something. If it was filled or not, I do not know. had a fight with his parents either the 14th or 15th. He mentions them either threatining to call the police or actually calling the police. went to be the night of the 16th and did not come out of his room the next day. This was typical of him, but as the time passed, his mother became suspicious. She called for him to wake up. An hour or so passed, and yet still did not wake up and/or come outside his room. She entered the room and found him still in his bed. She called 911 and when they arrived, informed her that he had passed away some time ago: from their judgement, during the overnight hours. I was at work all day Saturday, and my mother informed me of his death when arrived home at around 11pm Saturday night. and I were the closest of friends throughout school, but as he began to devote more and more time to his research, our friendship grew farther and farther apart. Our parents still talked, and his mother called mine to inform her of his death. Hope this clears up things... > > > > I do not think this is odd at all. Guest guest
This is unbelievable. For someone with such an exhausting disease was full of energy, constantly researching and discovering new and novel links to CFS. He was extremely quick minded and perceptive with alot of creative energy. Even though he was going through just a terrible situation with his parents he was full of hope regarding Dr. Enlander. He was working on a paper to be posted on my website, he was posting regularly, he was really just a ball of intellectual energy and I really cannot believe that he's just gone like that! In his last post he was understandably quite distraught about his family situation and being dumped out into the cold of the New York winter. Did things get too dark? or did he innocently take something that turned out to be horrible for him? Or did something in his body just give way? You lost a lifelong friend and we lost a companion on this voyage through life with this mysterious disease. He was so young! I'll miss him alot. This is unbelievable. He will continue to live in my heart. Rest in peace, , your short life made a difference.
