Guest guest
-- the pros and/or cons -- between some of these glutathione products This was a post from an old email list. I don't think the author will mind me reposting it here. - a Carnes it is extremely important that the whey is 'undenatured' and the reasons why, I will get to. Immunpro,[immunoPro] scientifically, should prove to be much, much more effective than all the other whey protein products. That is because the most important microfractions of the proteins in Immunepro are available in much higher percentages than the other currently available products. (I want to point out that I am not endorsing Immunepro, nor have I ever used it myself, as it is not available in Australia). If you examine the breakdown on the label (https://www.immunesupport.com/shop/product.cfm?product__code=N056) and covert it into percentages, Immunepro consists of close to 8% Immunoglobulins (one of the very important microfractions) which is around twice that of any of the other whey supplements. It also has higher percentages of Lactoferrin and Bovine Serum Albumin, which are all important in producing glutathione and boosting the immune system. Dr. Cheney has apparently supported the idea that it is the most powerful the immune building whey supplements in the results that he has obtained on his patients. Here is a site that discusses his success supplementing chronically ill patients with whey protein http://virtualhometown.com/dfwcfids/medical/whey.html Unforunately most of the generic whey proteins are not highly undenatured as to produce a product containing mostly undenatured whey requires more expensive and delicate manufacturing techniques. After much hunting I managed to track down a body-building whey supplement known as 'body science whey protein', in a Health Food Store in Australia that has a very similar profile of microfractions to that of Immuneplex (another commerically available whey supplement), and I can testify that it has made a big difference to my health. It costs me $130 Australia, (so around $70 US) for 3 kilos, or (6.6 pounds) so it is extremely cost effective. (when compared to immuneplex that costs $35US for 300grams!) To give you an idea, here is a comparison of the two protein supplements, through their microfraction profiles, Immune Plex (commerically available immune building whey) Alpha-Lactalbumin 23% Beta-Lactoglobulin 51% (this is the easiest fraction to extract, and should ultimately be lower than 50%) Glycomacropeptides 18% Bovine Serum Albumin + Immunoglobulins 5% Lactoferrin, Lactoperoxadise & Others 2% Body Science Undenatured Whey Protein Isolate Alpha-Lactalbumin 15.47% Beta-Lactoglobulin 44.63% Glycomacropeptides 15.9% Immunoglobulins 4.37% (or IgG, this is more than immuneplex!!!) Bovine Serum Albulmin 1.37% Lactoferrin 0.06% Lactoperoxadise, profeospeptones and Others 14% denatured protein 2% As you can see, both protein powders have similar profiles, and the body building whey actually has more IgG, and Bovine Serum Albumin than the Immuneplex! If you find some of the brand name supplements to be far too expensive, I suggest looking through the health food store at the body building wheys, and finding one that has an breakdown of the microfractions on the label. Look for one that has percentages close to the ones that I have listed above, ultimately with the highest percentage of alph-lactalbumin, IgG (immunoglobulins), BSA (Bovine Serum Albumin) and Lactoferrin as possible. Hopefully you can get lucky like me, and come across a good quality protein supplement that will save you a large amount of money! Sorry that was such a long message! Best wishes, .
