Why do antibiotics help me to feel better?

I have been wondering why I do much better when I am taking longterm

antibiotics like Doxycycline or Biaxin but the latest research by Kerr

et all and Dr Gow is beginning to show that the problem lies in the

way parts of the immune system is inappropriately switched on linking

this to viral involvement with no mention of an ongoing bacterial

problem. We are always being told that antibiotics don't help viral

problems at all and yet my experiece is that I am always feeling much

better when on a longterm abx regime.

Anybody got any thoughts on why this might be? I have no obvious

signs of on going infection but have just had one thought which might

be some sort of explanation, I have read that doxycycline has anti-

inflammatory properties and maybe Clarithromycin does too.
