Guest guest
This company's research on antibiotics is fascinating stuff. I am not at home, so not able to give a good link but here is a quote from their website. -a " In 1999, Advancis scientists made an exciting discovery. Bacteria exposed to antibiotics in short repetitive bursts, or pulses, are eliminated more efficiently and tend not to develop more resistant forms. With this proprietary knowledge in hand, Advancis has the potential to redefine infectious disease therapy. Our pre-clinical evaluations compare pulsatile treatment regimens to traditional dosing in both in vitro and in vivo models. The results foreshadow an important shift in anti-infective dosing principles. Pulsatile dosing of certain antibiotics not only eliminated more bacteria and better prevented the development of resistant strains—it did so at significantly lower drug concentrations. Advancis believes pulsatile dosing may afford unique advantages... "
Guest guest
Have they made any progress since 1999? six years would seem to be long enough to have some further info. Guest guest
MC, Certainly they have. You can read at their website, call them, etc. They are a publicly traded company. As such they may not make all their research public, indeed, they are not allowed to make statements until studies are completed and released. I only posted here the basic concept underlying their research, not the actual studies. a > > This company's research on antibiotics is fascinating stuff.
