Helen;

Sounds like an interesting tale; tell us?

Only miracle I've had in twenty years is when the acupuncturist from

Beijing was here.

Well, I wish I could say I've had similar experiences with other

acupuncturists, but I haven't. This doctor is from the Institute of

Traditional Medicine in Beijing and is one of the best in the world.

He came here to study with a doctor who was renowned for his cranial

sacral work. This was in 1991. I was diagnosed with chronic Epstein

Barr virus in 1988 and was spinning my wheels not getting any better

despite seeing Stoff in 89 and working with him long distance a

couple of years.

So Dr. Liu comes to town, has never heard of chronic fatigue

syndrome, tells me my kidney meridian is weak, my spleen meridian is

not very excellent, my heart and kidney are not communicating well,

and that my chi is very weak. He sticks some needles in, it hurts

like hell, I think he's punctured my intestines and I'm gonna die. He

intones No pain, no gain. Then he runs electricity from the wall

through his own body and into the needles. This hurts like hell. The

Inquisition would wish they'd had this. He learned it from a Buddhist

monk and the current in the walls in China is higher so this is

nothing to him.

I get off the table and feel normal for two hours. Then my goal was

to see him as often as possible, despite the pain. I would lie there

and sweat because I knew how bad it was going to hurt. He went to New

York City, decided the people there were crazy, and came back here

for a few more weeks where he was revered like a deity. Then he went

back to Beijing.

He pulled me up 20% and it lasted several years. Also learned Tai Chi

from him.
