Guest guest
Penny, Was this caused by injury or was it gradual onset? I had this also, for many years, mostly in one shoulder, mine was gradual onset. Eventually I traced it back to the onset of Lyme Disease. And interestingly enough, after 16 years the shoulder/muscle pain stopped and the FULL range of motion returned a few months into Salt/C. So maybe it was Borrelia in the joints all along. Hard to say, but the salt did something. Here is a post I wrote recently on the Salt/C protocols: http://kurtsprotocol.blogspot.com/2005/05/review-of-several-saltc-protoc ols.html I did not even need the full dose to get the benefit, I just went up to 7-8g of Salt and about 2g of C, and that helped, not a cure, but significant, very major improvement, from about 15% functional housebound with full disability to about 50% and able to leave the house again and starting a new work project. I am now on a low maintenance dose and the benefit is holding. I rotate salts, using Recup, CMC salt tablets (the ONLY tablets that work, pharma grade), Krystal salt, and sometimes RealSalt. I was using mostly the CMC tablets when the shoulder was resolved. I did not even realize it was working right again until I went outside and played softball with my boys, which I have never been able to do before, BTW (I was already sick when they were born). --Kurt SPAM-LOW: Re: Rich - Rotator cuff and zinc??? Rich, zinc is helping your rotator cuffs? I have tendinosis in both rotator cuffs which causes a lot of discomfort and I can't really use my arms much. Really hard, since I'm a sculptor. Can you point me to some articles on rotator cuff and zinc? If this helps me, I'd be thrilled. Unfortunately, I haven't done well with zinc in the past. Makes me very hyper and anxious. But I'd stick it out if it could help the shoulder situation. penny I decided to stop chelating and boost > my zinc intake to help heal the tendon. Guest guest
Definitely gradual onset, no injury, and it got worse after a few months on Cipro, I'm afraid. (the quinolones can damage tendons). I'm really encouraged that you improved like that. Did you have trouble sleeping on your side? It's getting really hard for me, especially the left side, which is odd, because originally my right shoulder was worse, but that lessened somewhat (but also moved into the elbow area), and now my left shoulder's really bad. I've also got a lot of pain radiating down into my left tricep and right bicep. I'm starting to feel like the " armless sculptor " . I'm dx'd with tendenosis, which supposedly is not inflammatory, although Benicar has helped relieve a lot of the pain, so I'm not sure how exactly that works. But my range of motion is lessening all the time and it's scary. Need to get to the ortho, but really dread surgery. Seems hard to believe I could get the range of motion back, but I'm encouraged by your experience. Very good news about the salt/C. I've been very hopeful about that protocol, and need to try it again, but want to use salt tabs this time. I'm also confused about the actual salt itself, since there are so many different ingredients in salt besides sodium which vary from product to product. But yes, I think the salt/C thing sounds very promising and cheap, and the fact that it completely bypasses the medical establishment, is fine with me. :-) penny > I decided to stop chelating and boost > > my zinc intake to help heal the tendon.
