Guest guest
I'm another member of the Alfred Blasi site, having been on Recup. for 16 months, with excellent results. Most, or even all, of my FMS symptoms are gone now, and I live a totally normal life. Over the past 10 years I've tried many things, but this stuff really has worked for me. (This sounds like a testimonial, which it isn't meant to!) We are all so grateful to Alfred that we feel rather protective of him - the man is only trying to help us,and he's been there himself after all; he's also a very genuine person. There are many testimonials on his site, plus photos of him with his 'amigos',ie people who have benefited from taking Recup.,(in Spanish) but we in the English speaking world have just recently heard about it. I'd recommend it to anyone, and no, I haven't got shares in it. In Spain it costs about the same as on the web,(plus postage to Europe) no cheaper, but I'd willingly pay a lot more if I had to. Nuff said. Gerry.
Guest guest
To o75: I have had CFS/FMS for too many years to count. I started Recup on January 13, 2005 and what an amazing response. The first couple of weeks I had dry, cracked lips from the extra salt intake, I was a little more tired, I had a few mood swings, but after that I had so much more energy. I found I sleep less at night and awaken earlier in the morning (about an hour less), I have more energy to do things, my hair and nails are stronger and grow faster (I've always had soft nails but not now, and my haircuts are sooner). I can do more work for longer periods without the crashing effect afterwards. When I nap it's shorter (half an hour versus 2-1/2 hours; of course I still have to watch my food allergy diet). I have been taking two sachets of Recuperation per day. I started with the sugar-free orange, then switched to the saline with juice added. There were days when I took three because my body seemed to want it; now I seem to want only one sachet per day. I have a 1 litre bottle that I fill 3/4 with water in the morning, add two sachets and juice to fill the bottle, shake, drink half am and the other half in the afternoon/evening, whatever is convenient for me. If it is a hot day I refrigerate the other half so the juice doesn't go bad, then let it warm up a bit before drinking it. For me personally I found it doesn't help the pain, but it sure helps the energy levels. I do take other supplements (as we all do) and feel better when I do. Prescription for Nutritional Healing by Dr. Balch says those with FMS need higher doses of supplements and I have found this to be true. I just get tired of taking so many pills daily that sometimes I forego it and pay with less energy. I take spirulina and find that helps with energy, Cortitrol for balancing the cortisol levels and it helps the mood and stress, Stress-B Complex for the stress levels, and LifePak Prime by Pharmanex for multiple, Cartilage and Bone Formula for extra calcium/magnesium, also Source Natural Cal-Mag Night, CMO for the muscle/joint pain, Melatonin (3 mg/night) to sleep. I do take Vicodin for extreme pain (250 mg only) when working too many physical hours. I tried Flexeril but it made me loopy the next day with the following day a great day (is it worth one yuck day for one good day?). Tried Voltaren (an anti-inflammatory) but not sure it does much. The chiropractor and deep-tissue massage therapy combined are best for me. The chiro has a muscle relaxing technique that is fab and lasts for two days. The massage gets out the lactic acid buildup in my muscles but lasts a shorter period and have to keep going to keep up. I just finished a grueling week of working 5+ hours in the school cafeteria last week (Mon-Sun) when school started (actually worked 10 dayds straight, even though part-time) and we didn't have our student workers yet. I am doing okay considering. I napped every day for short periods (1/2 to 1 hour) and didn't do much else, but I survived better than I would have previously. I hope this gives you some information. Is it mainly used for muscular discomfort? What improvements did you notice with this product? Thanks, o
Guest guest
For Recuperat-ion go to http://www.recuperat-ion.com/ and choose English. The formula to look at is the saline one. They do have a sugar-free but it has colors and artificial sugar (used this one first and it was not too bad but switched to saline later on), lemon has sugar. If you order, they take credit cards and it comes in two weeks or less in a brown envelope through the mail. If your credit card doesn't process, call the card company and let them know you are ordering something from overseas and they will release the order~fraud departments love to put a hold on overseas orders. What I do is mix 2-3 sachets in a one litre bottle, add about 2/3 bottle filled with filtered or bottled water, then add my favorite juice (could be orange, apple, grape, lemon, etc.), shake and drink at least half. Some days I sip it throughout the day but it is best to take half in the morning one hour away from other meds or supplements, then the other half in the afternoon. If it is hot, keep it refrigerated because the juice will ferment and it wastes the supplement. I remember someone figured out it would cost about 85 cents a day or per sachet (they come in little packages called sachets). The first week I had more of a dry mouth and chapped lips cuz I was off salt, but now I crave salt (the good kind, not regular table salt which is not good for us). I found Real Salt recommended here and it is yummy; actually carry small shakers (from sprinkles containers) in all my purses and bags whenever I go out so I have it to use. At first I thought it would be just another supplement, but I was so badly in need of something that it worked for me. I took 2-3 per day for six months and actually found myself " craving " it, which is weird, but that's the truth of it. When I overworked, I needed it. And I am on my feet 2-3 days per week in the school cafeteria on a cement floor, lifting stuff, which is hard on my muscles. So, the extra magnesium, calcium, potassium and sodium really helped. There is also a website AlfredblasiprotocolFMSCFSgroups@... but hasn't been very active lately. Seems everyone is getting better and not writing...created by Alfred Blasi in Spain who has FMS/CFS and he and his wife came up with the formula and gave it to the pharmacy who sells it for everyone. Each sachet of saline formula contains 740 mg sodium (the correct kind), 200 mg potassium, 15 mg calcium, 15 mg magneisum. The amounts of minerals sounds low but it works. When I order, I buy either 170 or 240 sachets cuz it's cheaper and I don't have to keep reordering every month. It might be worth trying, but commit to at least three months trial, which is the minimum for any product to try. The differences were little at first, but now I notice I cramp up when I don't take it (I forget now), but the benefits were that I started not only having the desire to do things, I could actually do them (in moderation at first of course), my naps shortened, my post-exertional malaise was much shorter if not nonexistent now, my hair and nails are longer and stronger than ever before, I have more energy and it lasts longer. So it's worth it for me. If you read past posts on the Blasi site it might give you some info. Best wishes for health to all of us. in La Selva Beach CA kim.doll70 wrote: > > hey you guys have me intrigued about recuperation > I found a website on it but i cannot find the ingredient list > I would prefr no sugar or aspartame or dyes > do you know whats in it or a link that says? whats the easiest way to > buy it? > > > > > > > > That's interesting Dirk, I hadn't heard that. > > > > > > I was wondering, do you take a calcium supplement (or supplements) in > > > place of any dairy > > > you were eating/drinking? Guest guest
I got no help at all from Recuperat-ion. I took it for almost a year. I stopped when I got severely ill with a sudden onset of something - possibly a virus that damaged my vestibular nerves and who knows what else. I stopped the Recup then, not knowing if it had played some part in the new illness. In any case, it had never helped me. I eat extra salt to control blood pressure. That has always worked nicely for me and is probably safer than florinef etc. I think folks may have stopped writing at the Recup website for reasons other than that they are improved. I know I stopped writing there. a Carnes wrote: There is also a website AlfredblasiprotocolFMSCFSgroups@... but hasn't been very active lately. You can joing the Group AlfredblasiprotocolFMSCFS to get more infomation or read the FAQ. " http://www.dfwcfids.org/healing/gokhmbrw.htm#homebrew My question is this, is there something extra in Recurperat-ion that would not be found in the Homebrew recipe (which is working very well for me) Marti

Guest guest
paula do you like emergen-c drink? I drank that several times a day for years but am trying to avoid some ingredients in it I found out that I am allergic or sensitive to, but I miss it. > There is also a website > AlfredblasiprotocolFMSCFSgroups@ but hasn't been very active > lately. Guest guest
I never found good reason to think the mix found in Recup was better than just salt and magnesium. I haven't ever tried anything else such as Gookinaid etc. I have heard this is needed by some severely ill patients. I just ate a lot of salt and drank plenty of water - still try to do this. I did start buying a good brand of sea salt. I used to take magnesium malate. It' really hard to determine what, if anything, helps or hurts. The only supplement I can say really helps is ImmunoPro RX and Dr. Cheney and others would support this claim as well. a Carnes > > paula > do you like emergen-c drink? Guest guest
Hello Kim, Marti, Just for clarity to anyone new... Dr. Cheney began long ago recommending the electrolyte mixture, Gookinaid, a specific brand name, to patients. That same product is now called " Hydralyte " . " Homebrew " referred to a mixture he said can be made at home as an alternative to Gookinaid/Hydralyte. (Then there have been a couple of versions of that, from him or from other patients). Some PWCMEs have also used Blasi/Recup-eration, Emergen-CEE, and other things. Even Gatorade has helped me in a pinch. (even tho it's got a lot of sugar and junk in it:( ) Pediolyte is electrolytes for children, found in drug stores. And there is a juice in health food stores called " Recharge " that I used to drink. I don't know what Dr. Cheney says about anything in that paragraph. The website that Marti posted has great info and recipes for " Homebrew " . I was already using Gookinaid/Hydralyte when I saw Dr. Cheney, and he also called it " pre-load " in relationship to my Cardiomyopathy/Diastolic Dysfunction. in case any of that helps, BW, Katrina > > > > > > I got no help at all from Recuperat-ion.
