Guest guest
For those of us living in the province of Ontario you should know that ME/CFS is now listed as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, a NEUROLOGICAL illness and given the OHIP Diagnostic Code 795. See link below. http://www.mefmaction.net/default.aspx?page=meofficialrecognitionon p.s. Re: air cleaners. Yes O3 [ low-level ozone ]from some air cleaners IF YOU CAN SMELL IT is too much. To me it smells like chlorine.Unless it is above 50 ppb it won't harm you however it is irritating to eyes and lungs and is very noticable to most people at 50 ppb. IN A CLOSED ROOM IT WILL GO ABOVE 50 PPB. THIS IS OK FOR SANTIZING but NOT for constant breathing. We breathe O3 even in mountain air after a thunderstorm but it is under 40 ppb. It's that FRESH smell. I have a Flair by Ecoquest which also contains Radio Frequency ionization- drops air born dirt to flat surfaces where it is oxidized by O3. Here it gets interesting or weird. When I lived in my big house, then at my parents and then a basement apt - I could run it 24/7 at 1/2 to 3/4 setting with ONE of 2 plates in it, sometimes even both plates in at my big house. NO PROBLEMS. Worked GREAT - esp. in basement apt to control mold smell [ it oxidizes mold and chemicals, neutralizing them- great ]. HOWEVER in my current little home even on lowest setting, I can only operate it for a few hours at a time [except in basement with door closed ]. This is with home closed up tight. A window opened a crack to let in fresh air [ O2 ]aleviates this. These machines take O2 and changes it into O3 which is unstable/reactive [ like hydrogen peroxide ]. O3 lasts in that form until it either oxidizes something or breaks down into O2 [ about 20 minutes ] Like anything else - results differ for location and sensitivity of people involved.
