Guest guest
Hi, I feel better when I take Acetyl-L-Carnitine. I have MCS and the inflammation issues. I also tend to get lactic acidosis, which corresponds to fibromyalgia symptoms. Meat consumption may worsen lactic acidosis, but often vegetarians are deficient in carnitine. I have noticed that ACL improves my energy during walking and jogging. " Hi Ingrid! I'm starting on ALC (Acetyl-L-Carnitine) this morning. I'm wondering how much you take a day, at what intervals, and whether you take it with food or on an empty stomach. I did a web search and found both recommendations, i.e., to take it on an empty stomach AND to take it with meals. So this morning I took 500mg on an empty stomach. I'm going to try to build up to 3 grams a day based on research I read about on the web that suggests thats the dosage at which it becomes effective. Will in Seattle a.k.a. Guest guest
I read that L-carnitine helps with mitochondrial dysfunction. Since most of us have this problem, that may be why it helps. Guest guest
L-carnitine, all forms gives me huge sugar swings. Very unconfortable. High anxiety when that happens. It makes me feel great otherwise. Better concentration, better stamina, etc. I stopped use because it makes me feel horribly hypoglycemic at times. And anxiety is high when on it. Guest guest
Just wondering if you've had your blood sugar checked to see if it's actually hypoglycemia, or maybe something else, like perhaps an additive in the product? Many supplements have fillers that folks are allergic too, and some of the l-carnitine products come as a liquid, with lots of artificial flavors, etc. Also the capsules, if they're gelatin, may have MSG in them, or at least high levels of glutamate, which would definitely cause anxiety. Just my two cents! d. " I feel better when I take > > Acetyl-L-Carnitine...I > > have noticed that ACL improves my energy during > > walking and > > jogging.
