Guest guest
Tealk, I don't know where you live, but I've just learned that my bottle water company (Music Moutain Water, home office in Shreveport, LA, but covers quite a large area in several states) now has available a reverse osmosis system for the home. The company analyzes your water, installs the unit adjusted for your water filtration, and you pay a monthly fee which covers any maintenance, problems, etc. My route man says it is not expensive. Probably other water companies will have this available as well. He said your dispensing unit looks like a regular bottle water unit, but without the bottle on top. I used reverse osmosis water delivered to my home before moving to this area, and it is my favorite water and has not been available from the company prior to this. The route man told me that already several large local companies are installing these units for their employees drinking water, and it is predicted that large numbers of people at home will go to this in the near future. Hope this is helpful. bg > hi i live in a small apt and the water doesnt taste rite i have a simple ball int he bathtub for flouride allaready. > .. can anyone recommend a good water filatration system ? Guest guest
bg, I just want to note that reverse osmosis not only removes impurities that are desirable to get rid of, but it also removes the calcium and magnesium salts, which are beneficial. If you drink only water that has been through reverse osmosis (and has not had these salts added back in after the purification process) then I think it is important to make sure you are getting enough of them by supplementation. PWCs are particularly low in magnesium. My opinion, for what it's worth, is that it is preferable to use an activated carbon block filter, such as the Multi-Pure or one of its competitors. This removes the toxic organics, heavy metals and bacteria, but not the essential minerals. Rich
