Hi, all.

Long time readers may recall that Mr. Raba raised the above subject

some time ago on the list. I was unable to think of an explanation

at that time. Today he raised the subject on the Marshall Protocol

list, and I suddenly got an idea that might explain this. After

doing some digging on PubMed and in my books, I think this

explanation might be viable. I'm posting my response to him here,

since he raised this subject here some time ago. Here is is:

" Hi, Mr. Raba.

I recall your raising this issue some time ago on the Experimental

list. Today I have come up with a suggested explanation for this

phenomenon. This is off the topic of the Marshall Protocol, so

perhaps the moderators will want to move this elsewhere, but since

you asked it here, I will offer my explanation here.

It is known that sperm cells contain proteins and protamines that

are very high in their cysteine content.

I suggest that ejaculation causes a significant loss of cysteine

from the body of the male.

It is also known that cysteine is usually the rate-limiting amino

acid for the biosynthesis of glutathione.

It is also known that many PWCs are significantly depleted in

glutathione.

Wulf Droege in Heidelberg has suggested that PWCs are low in

cysteine, and that this causes their low glutathione status.

I have hypothesized in the past that many PWCs are operating right

on the ragged edge of having enough glutathione to maintain their

functions, and that anything that depletes glutathione by a

significant amount will push them into a crash.

I suggest that what is going on after you ejaculate is that your

testes present an increased demand for cysteine for a couple of days

in order to regenerate new sperm cells to restock your inventory.

This demand for cysteine in the presence of your deficiency of

cysteine lowers the availability of glutathione to other organs, and

this produces the crash.

Of course, this is an untested hypothesis, and I can't guarantee

that it is the correct explanation. If you want to test this

hypothesis, try loading up with some N-acetylcysteine before your

next episode, and take it for a couple of days afterward as well,

and then let us know how it goes. I don't know what your mercury

status is. If it might be high, it's best to limit your NAC intake

to 300 mg per day to avoid moving mercury into your brain.

Otherwise, you could probably double or triple that dose.

Good luck!
