Anyone seen Dr. Cowden in Ft. Worth, TX?

I spoke with him on the phone last week. He's semi-retired and

spends most of his time traveling and teaching other doctors. I was

impressed by him in our conversation and scheduled an appointment in

February. He leans toward natural treatments over traditional

medicine. He is very expensive -- $500/hour.

About Dr. Cowden, a new member of our local support group's on-line

group has been seeing Dr. Cowden for at least 6 months now. She has

been ill for many years, apparently with lyme. Finally, she

reports, she is making much progress. I am aware that she was first

tested elsewhere, using the Bowen test, and tested positive for

lyme. Dr. Cowden focuses a good bit of attention on lyme, from what

I heard on a radio interview.

I would not have guessed that he is semi-retired. A local AP

(antibiotic protocol -- Dr. Brown's work) physician is doing some

studying under Dr. C at his office. When I heard Dr. Cowden in the

radio interview, a caller wanted his office information. He

mentioned then that he did not have an open appt for about 3 months

from that time.

My two cents re Cowden. I believe he used to practice in Dallas,

and was mainly a Multiple Chemical Sensitiviy (MCS) specialist. I

called his office (when he was in Dallas-where I am) and got the

feeling that " CFS " was *not* his primary area of emphasis. That

being said, if one feels that they have other problems, MCS, Lyme,

etc., he may be a good choice to go to. I have also heard he is

expensive and since he believes in using natural

treatments/supplemnts/tests, some of his charges may not be covered by

insurance. There is nothing wrong w/ that (if true) if one has

enough money.
