Nikken stuff and magnetics

Well I tried some this winter, they had a no return policy. I got a magnetic

comforter along with some clothes that they say was woven with the fabric to

reflect infrared heat in the body.

The comforter was warm but I never noticed any benefit at all from the

magnets, did not sleep any better, I actually got worse but that was from the

detoxing of the sauna treatment.

Maybe it helps some people but it is hit or miss I think. Sure did nothing

but empty my wallet

Hello,

I'm sure that Nikken (magnetic stuff) has been discussed here as

well, but I wanted to ask if anyone (no distributors please) has

noticed any kind of benefit from their stuff?

In the nineties I had a mattress pad, back pad and a back cushion

($1000.00 worth of stuff) and didn't notice any benefit over a

period of a year.

I was recently highlighted in our local paper in the health section

as a health professional with CFS/FMS/MCS (ironic isn't it) and

anyway the MLM predators found ways to get my home number.

A Nikken distributor talked me into trying their water machine and

mattress pad. I have since returned both.

I did find the palm mag interesting. It has a magnetic ball that

rotates and creates a constantly changing magnetic field. I think it

had a relaxing effect but couldn't be sure.

BTW: It seems strange that such a sucessful company has so little

research in a 25 year history.

Anyway, any comments about magnetic therapies.

I have had and used lots of Nikken products, but the only one I can

thoroughly endorse is their Kenkotherm comforter. I have them on every

bed in the house, including guest beds, because they make such a big

difference in my fibromyalgia. (Something about far infrared heat

penetrating more deeply into the muscle tissue.) I used to have a

love/hate relationship with my down comforter, as it would often make me

too hot and I'd wake up covered in sweat. Never happens with the

Kenkotherm, and I find that I don't need any extra blankets (which can

be uncomfortably heavy). The only change I make in the wintertime is to

put it in a flannel duvet rather than a cotton percale one.

Since the Kenkotherm comforters are " dry clean only " (and I can't

tolerate dry cleaning fumes), I keep my comforters in a double cover -

Allergy Relief Cover with a " fashionable " duvet cover on top. The

outside duvet cover gets washed at least once a month in hot water and

dried on hot, to keep any dust mites from getting a foothold. The bulk

of the Kenkotherm comforters is made up of wool and ceramic fibers, and

I never had any outgassing problem from them.

HTH!

p.s. I think the magnetic insoles helped me some, worn under my regular

orthotics. In addition to the fibromyalgia, I experience bouts of

plantar fasciitis from time to time, and the magnetic insoles seem to

help keep the inflammation down. But it's pretty subtle.

I sure did not notice any improvement with my Nikken comforter either in my

sleep or my Fibro. It might help regulate heat better but I still have to throw

it off when I get too warm.

and everyone,

Thanks for the info on the comforters. I don't have fibroM but I do

have cfs and muscles that get weak and sore with activity and I am

wondering if it wiil help. I am also wondering about a good vendor.

I live in the bay area of california so I think I will get the

summer weight one and use it all year. I also wonder if I can put a

sheet or something very thin under me with infrared. I don't want to

interfere with my temperature senstive tempurpedic matteress or my

emf grounding undersheet. I also already have a magnet pad under the

mattress. So I have an elaborate system anyway. So so they have

cermic sheets and pillow cases? And who is a good vendor to talk to.

Thanks,
