Guest guest
Steve, I find elavil is better for sleep, muscle relaxing, and mental stability. I did try ambien. Didn't sleep deeply enough. For headache.. I used to take pain meds and migraine meds like imitrex. I find that Depakote works phenomonally for headaches. I didn't want to try it, because you take it daily and because it is also given for bi polar, but it almost totally aleviates the headaches. It also drastically improves cognitive function as does a low dose of lamictal. I also discovered that some of my migraines were triggered by sinus problems which only sporanox helped.(I had sinus surgery, took antihistamines, and cipro . None of that worked). They always think sinus infections are bacterial, when they are really fungal. Cramping... eat salads... Eat protein, carb and veg or fruit at every meal.. take PB8 .Low carb high protein diet works best. A reasonable amount of carbs, and 7-8 oz of protein a day. I take Lessman's B complex, no injections. Also take Lessman's Ultra Essential vitamins.. huge difference w/o them. or another vitamin. They contain p5p, a precursor for B6, since we supposidly do not absorb b6 well. I take Lisinopril for idiopathic hypertension, and MVP. I used to feel like my legs were heavy and all the blood was pooling in them up until taking it a year or so ago. Works really great! Naltraxone dosage you are taking is right. Provigil makes me feel wonderful. Lots of energy, no side effects. Gives me my brain back. Takes away the burning in my eyes. Valtrex for all the herpes viruses is essential for me. Took cipro, doxy and zithromax for a couple of years for other bacterail infections. Helped a lot. Aleviated the feeling of a ten pound weight sitting on my chest. Supplements I take are magnesium w/ calcium, and zinc. Vitamin E., Fish OIl (I eat nothing from the ocean). Amino Acids (prolabs full spectrum), Alpha Lipoc Acid every 2 to 3 days w/ Inositol and N acetyl cysteine. I also take Jarrow's reduced l glutathione 500 mg. I know many say it isn't absorbed in this form, but I know that it works for me. My newest addition is CoQ10, 3 x a day. Improves cognitive function even more!. Boy is it expensive to be sick, but thank god we have things to make life so much better, even though just treating the symptoms. I take Milk Thistle a few times a week. It is the only thing that lowered my liver enzymes. I also take armour thyroid. Not sure what he'd charge you for a telephone consult. But if you do call, say that Carol Orentlicher recommended you to him. Don't be afraid to tell him if you are totally disabled, or only work part time. He will note it and if not this time, next time he won't charge you as much. He is totally non materialistic. His only goal in life is to help people. Hope this all helps. If you have any more questions, please ask. i truly believe that everyone can function at as high a level as me. Just need the right meds... Guest guest
Carol, Since I live in California, I probably won't be able to visit Dr. Bihari in person. Do you know how much he charges for a telephone consult? Do you see any gaps that you think Dr. Bihari would be able to help me with? My Medications: Sleep: Ambien 10 mg (or Doxepin 5 mg); Klonopin 1 mg--night , .5 mg--afternoons Headache & pain: Midrin---occasional; Ace Cold Wrap when sleeping Cramping: Bentyl 10 mg -- 2 capsules at night Detoxification: B12 injection 5 mg--two or three times per week HPA axis: Armour thyroid-- 45 mg per day (AM & noon); Cortef-- 10 mg per day (AM & noon) Immune system: Immune globulin every other week; 4.5 mg naltrexone every night Supplements: a lot of different ones, but the most helpful are Adrenal Cortical Extract, Tyrosine, ImmunoPro, Lauricidin, Pro-Plus, and a number of herbs, B. & C. vitamins, essential fatty acids, and so on. A few of these have been recommended by my naturopath who lives in land.
