Guest guest
Dear Group, In my files dated 2001 (when I took the colostrum) I had a site. Just went there, and I'm sure there is a lot of new information (based on all the new transfer factor research). Here are two of many sites that had good information: http://www.newlifefoods.com/about_colostrum/research_home.shtml http://www.newlifefoods.com/about_colostrum/how_to_take_colostrum.sht ml I have several other posts about colostrum from 2001 in my files. (I've been a support group leader for about 7 or 8 years now, so I hold onto a lot of files. lol I'll look them over, and if any seem especially good, will post them later.) I took a tablespoon of the Kal powder under the tongue on an empty stomach twice a day, LETTING IT STAY THERE UNTIL IT DISSOLVED SLOWLY. I believe this allowed it to better be absorbed directly into the mucosa and bloodstream. I have a friend of several years who has scleroderma. She tells me it is one of the most effective supplements she has ever used -- and most of you know what a difficult disease SD is. Good luck, and please let us know if you use it and it helps you. Your experience can help others. bg > > bg, > I wish I knew about the powdered colostrum while I was taking whey > protein. I ordered some for Vitaminshoppe ($19 if any are interested) and the directions say to take 1 " teaspoon " not tablespoon twice daily. I decided to just take a teaspoon but wanted to check with you again to make sure the dosage you took to relieve your back problems. Thanks, Gail N. Guest guest
Gail, When I went back to a paper in my files to check before I posted the answer previously, the one I looked at said one tablespoon -- it has been about 3 years and I must confess I didn't remember for sure, but was thinking it was only one teaspoon I used. Since I saw in the document " one tablespoon " , I put that. Either dosage will not hurt you and will be helpful, but I think it's always good to start at the lower dose. Since colostrum is a source of glutathione production, it's possible you could have a mini herx; however, I did not. My back pain just started getting better in several days. What brand did you get? I'm really pleased to learn about it being a good source of glutathione and plan to start on it again intermittently with the undenatured whey protein after I finish my 4 months on Immune64. Since I know I have low Natural Killer Cells, and since I've read Rich's work on glutathione, I feel I will always work on upping my glutathione. bg > > > > Dear Group > > > > I took a tablespoon of the Kal powder under the tongue on an empty > > stomach twice a day, LETTING IT STAY THERE UNTIL IT DISSOLVED > > SLOWLY.
