wooden furniture outgassing

Hi,

My friend bought me a new wooden entertainment center last week from

walmart. The past one week, I feel as though I am inhaling some

chemical smell from it- not sure if it is formaldehyde and I am

feeling worse.

If I need to return it, I need to ask my friend to disassemble it and

he doee not have time to do it for the next 3 weeks. It took him 8

hrs to assemble this piece. So, I was wondering if there is any way

to outgas it while it is in my living room. I am opening all the

windows during the day.

How long does a new wood furniture take to outgas formaldehyde and

other chemical fumes?
