Guest guest
I have taken the online course...it's good but it sure isn't the same as living it But it is probably the closest to educating anyone " with CDC backing " . We all know with cfids what that means .......but to some medical professionals it's the only " truth " available.....sorry couldn't help it. CDC FDA ADA ...seal of approval........problem is after someone takes the course they think they are experts and in my opinion the course just breaks the ice. I took it... I am a social worker.........sure I am more knowledgeable now but my son is the true educating tool. Course helps because physicians will say CDC huh? I think that drags them to the site Re: CFS online educational course for doctors Hello, Has anybody actually seen this online educational course for doctors? If it's anything like some of the collaborations between the CDC & CAA, it may not be a very useful tool. For example, their Pocket Resource Guide--Recognition & Management of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome states that most patients improve within five years. All of the long-range studies that I have read show that the recovery rate is only about 8-10%. The Guide serves only to confuse the situation further in regard to this disease. Guest guest
Hi , I have not done the course yet, although I am familiar with the work of Dr. Lapp. Dr. Lapp is an excellent doctor in my opinion and has been around for the long haul. See his website: http://www.drlapp.net While i'm guessing it may be a bit conservative in some areas, there is no doubting that doctors would benefit hugely from this, considering the average views of diagnosis/management. Guest guest
I'm not sure what other collaborations you're talking about . I would say though that there is a vast difference between improvement and recovery. If they're claiming that many see improvement in the first five years I would agree. I improved in the first five years. I cant imagine that anyone suggests that CFS patients recover in the first five years. <blkmtnbaldwins@...> wrote:I have taken the online course...it's good but it sure isn't the same as living it But it is probably the closest to educating anyone " with CDC backing " .
