Guest guest
Nil, If you like East Indian spices, you might also want to look into some of them. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi? cmd=Retrieve & db=pubmed & dopt=Abstract & list_uids=12577586 " Digestive stimulant action of three Indian spice mixes in experimental rats. " " ...The common ingredients of these mixes were coriander, turmeric, red chilli, black pepper and cumin, while the spice mix II additionally had ginger, and spice mix III contained onion. All the three spice mixes favourably enhanced the activities of pancreatic lipase, chymotrypsin and amylase when consumed during the diet. In addition, these spice mixes brought about a pronounced stimulation of bile flow and of bile acid secretion... " Laurie
Guest guest
Nil, I wasn't suggesting you abandon the idea of digestive enzymes, I was thinking you might want to consider the spices as something to use, in addition to enzymes. I've been doing this, with very good results. Laurie
Guest guest
Thank you so much Laurie, Very helpful. I many times crave for Turmeric. I am concentrating on digestive problems heavily for the first time and I noticed that actually the problem is much more complicated as some of you might already know. One needs to find the root cause otherwise he might have to support digestive system indefinitely. I read somewhere that impaired sulfation causes low stomach acid and inefficient bile secretion. So,it seems that body is reducing acid and bile to defend itself from excess load. It does not want to take in anything that it will not be able to process. So,pushing with betaine Hcl and some enzymes might be a temporary fix. Some place else I read that excess of prostaglandin 2 series causes low stomach acidity.I wished I knew what my real problem was. Best regards.
