Hi ,

Idebenone is very potent, and I suspect some PWCs need to go very slowly with

implementing it to avoid problems. There would have been no way I would have

had a good response if I had took too large a dose too fast.

I implemented Idebenone at 1/3 cap, increasing at 3-4 week intervals, and I am

now up to 2 1/3 caps daily. When I got to a whole cap, it was the first time I

had had any relief from 3 1/2 year chest pain, and my heart felt much stronger.

I have horrible reactions to regular CoQ10 at any dose, brand or form of it. I

go immediately weak and horribly sick.

I believe Idebenone is a good option for some of us. It is one of my top

supplements.

Hi ,

What you were doing on Idebenone is exactly what I do on CoQ10. From my reading,

Idebenone is very good in hypoxic conditions, and I am in the extreme of that

among PWCs.

I am one of the first of his patients that went on it, and I never got a chance

to let him know that I did well on it, but I hope to in the future. He says I

am in his 2% sickest patients, so perhaps it would only be those with extreme

hypoxia that would benefit. I am very interested in his theory about it. I am

notorious for not tolerating most supplements of medications, and I took to

Idebenone like a duck to water, I felt instant energy from it. I am anxious to

report this to him because it is a vital supplement for me and may be for a

small subset of PWCs.

I respond like Rita - Idebenone gives me some energy (from the very start) and

CoQ10 makes me worse, no matter how small the dosage or what type/brand.

There are very few supplements that I can tell help me, but Idebenone is one of

them. Small but noticeable benefit. I have worked up to 200mg per day now

and really feel it helps my energy as well as a steadier heart rate.

When I saw Dr. Cheney last summer, he mentioned that a few of his patients had

tried idebenone (I believe less than a dozen) and that a couple of them had

reported bad reactions. Even though the sample was very small, he thought

that perhaps CoQ10 was safer (he was definitely on a CoQ10 kick at that time).

He really hadn't had a chance to get much feedback on idebeone yet.

I am definitely a positive idebenone responder and negative CoQ10 responder.

Hi Rita,

That's interesting. Its good to here. I don't know why Cheney indicated

that to me. Maybe you're an exception to the rule he is was finding with it?
