Liprinol and other anti-inflammatories AND cytokines vs inflammation

, I just now read you used Liprinol in past. What do you think? What

source do you get it from? Do you find nettles to be good too? Have you ever

tried the NOW Boswellin? You know what's weird, my TNF when I saw Shoemaker

was normal and that was at a time when I was feeling worse too. My MMP-9 was

right in middle of reference range and I think in our phone consult Shoe told

me that the reference range was going to be changed or something like that, so

I might not have been as idea as the range suggested at the time. Also, he

tested TNF but I was trying to look for other cytokines and couldn't find any.

The other one talked about is IL-6 isn't it? I couldn't find any interleukin

stuff in my results. Did he measure yours? I see right now in my tests from

a year ago when I saw my LLMD and was at my worst my IL-6 was also right in

the reference range too, although she didn't measure TNF at that time. So is it

possible to have cytokines in reference range and still have inflammation?

This is all a big deal to me b/c like I said, Boswellin makes a huge

differnence to me. Also, some skeptics like to chalk abx as making a person

feel better

b/c of cytokines but apparently my cytokines were fine so the abx helped me

for another reason than cytokines. Maybe they were anti-inflammatory and that

is why they worked, just like Boswellin. The other cause of course is maybe

they were killing off bacteria.

I have never tried Boswellia by itself and so how do I know it is not really

the tumeric and curcumin in the NOW Boswellin that makes such a big difference

when I take it? I swear, just Boswellin and regular saunas and I could get

by life pretty nicely. I reported about how I cut my finger and it would not

stop bleeding though is why I don't like staying on the Boswellin b/c maybe the

tumeric and curcumin thin my blood too much? I would hate to get into an

accident and bleed to death just b/c of a supplement but right now since I am

not

on CSM it is worth the risk to me. Just call me a daredevil.

One of the research articles that I have from my naturopath is an article

from Complimentary Therapies in Medicine, ©1998 by S.L.M. Gibson, R.G.

Gibson, from the Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital, Glasgo, UK, and is titled

" The treatment of arthritis with a lipid extract of Perna canaliculus; a

randomized trial. " The second is an article from Inflammopharmacology,

©1997, published by the Kluwer Academic Publishers in the Netherlands,

titled " Anti-Inflammatory Activity of a Lipid Fraction (Lyprinol) From the

NZ Green-Lipped Mussel. " It does list Lyprinol as both a COX inhibitor and a

5-LOX inhibitor. And finally, an article in the May 2000 issue (issue #202)

of Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients titled " Anti-inflammatory

Effects of a Stabalized Lipid Extract of Perna Canaliculus (Lyprinol ®) by

s M. Halpern, MD, PhD, DSc, Professor Emeritus of Medicine, University

of California, , Visiting Professor, the University of Hong Kong. It

also lists Lyprinol as a COX-2 inhibitor and a 5-LOX inhibitor.

The article that I posted about from the Life Extension magazine October

2003 issue listed boswellia and ginger root as LOX inhibitors. And I've come

across articles on the internet that have listed bayberry bark as a LOX

inhibitor. There were tons of web sites for Garden's of Life brand " For Your

Inflammation " that includes bayberry as a LOX inhibitor. However, it is also

a -1 inhibitor, like Aspirin.
