Guest guest
Nil, I've recently done a good bit of research on sleep disorders -- not the usual type disorders/treatment regarding sleep hygiene, but those involving neurological syndromes, as well. If you go to this link, there many pages/links to help explain how some of these very well happen. http://www.about-sleep-disorders.com/ Probably basic to these problems is a " hyperarousal " of the patient throughout the night that causes various sleep problems, causes the stress hormone cortisol to be an ongoing problem not allowing the patient to relax and sleep. There are tests and treatments for these. If you are interested in a " ton " of links to various aspects of this, please post and let me know. I can send them to you. bg > Hi all, > > Does anyone know how to reduce symptoms of restless leg syndrome, alternative or conventional. Guest guest
Nil, If it is a matter of hyperarousal, then using tryptophan should help. Guest guest
Hi Nil, Magnesium injections cleared up most of my restless legs but I developed a more severe jerking/electrical jolting version after an accident. I'm taking Baclofen now which does help. A while back I mentioned to an Immunologist that my Mother felt that Gin & Tonics (alcoholic drink) helped her restless legs. He said that this was due to the Quinine and he prescribed Quinine to his patients. Someone posted to a UK list to say that they had used Quinine Sulphate for a month and had great relief. Hope that this helps your friend. With warmest regards, Annette ________________________________________________________________________ Messenger - Communicate instantly...
