Guest guest
Hi, Yaakov. The important thing for making glutathione is that the whey protein be undenatured. That means that it must be processed at low temperatures, without acid treatment. I believe that the reason for this is that the cysteine in the whey protein must be kept in its original cysteine state, and not oxidized to cystine. Cystine is much less readily usable by the liver cells for making glutathione. ImmunoPro Rx is a concentrate. It is not a byproduct of cheesemaking, which I think all the others (the isolates) are. The others are initially pasteurized as part of the cheese making process, and then the damaged molecules are removed and the rest of the processing is done at low temperatures, while ImmunoPro Rx is not pasteurized at the usual high temperature. The bacteria are removed by filtration. ImmunoPro Rx accordingly contains lactoferrin and immunoglobulins, while many of the others do not, because these molecules are easily damaged by heat. Some products have lactoferrin added back in, obtained from another process. ImmunoPro Rx appears to be more potent than the others, and for some PWCs it appears to be too potent. I think the reason is that it brings the immune system and the detox system up fast, as glutathione is synthesized, and the backlog of pathogens and toxins is high from the long duration of the illness, with low glutathione. Many PWCs have started with a very small dosage at first, and worked up, and this has helped them to avoid the strong Herxheimer reaction. I am not financially connected to ImmunoPro Rx. Guest guest
Jim, Just an idea. You may ask the producer. I did that once and they answered. You may give them the batch number if you are not sure of the production time. Best regards. Guest guest
Jim, My guess is that if it has been kept relatively cool and dry and has been in a closed container, it's probably O.K. I would pay attention to how it smells, how it looks, and how it tastes, also.
