Guest guest
Hi All - I've had this pain a number of times. My doctor says it is either an over-stressed liver, for which he recommends laying off all but the essential medicines and supplements for a week and taking milk thistle to let the liver recover, or gallstones, often too small to be seen on an ultrasound. He had my liver enzymes tested (they were elevated) and ran an ultrasound (nothing showed up), and I did a liver cleanse involving fasting for a day and then drinking a quarter cup of olive oil with lemon juice that night. I passed a number of small gallstones the next morning and have felt much better ever since. But if I ever drink any alcohol at all, the pain flares right back up, so I am very very careful with my diet now and don't drink at all. Hope this helps - Jennie in California

Guest guest
I can just barely fast, Nil, if I am careful. I start the night before; nothing after dinner, and end the fast with an evening meal the next day. And I do NOT plan to do anything more than read and watch tv. When I had gallstones, the oil/juice thing made me much sicker for awhile. None of them came out, had to have surgery. And that was waaay before I was really sick.
