Guest guest
brings up an interesting point. I find that when I am taking something that is bothering me, but I don't yet know it (i.e. it hasn't crashed me yet; instead I am in pre-crash mode), I become much more verbal and talkative. It is a very annoying symptom. It's like I'm talking and I can't shut up. Surely, this must be indicative of some common type of chemical imbalance in the brain or body. I wonder how common this is amongst the general CFS population? Zippy
Guest guest
Yes, it happens to me sometimes! When I stop long enough to realize it, I realize I am wired, amped up, etc. I always assumed it is was much cortisol surging into me, but I don't know. I don't usually get major " crashes " , but I believe it is often after these episodes that I have to lie around doing nothing for a few days. Another thing that happens to me is about once every 2 months I am completely wide awake until about 8am or 10am. This morning I went to bed at 11am. This is despite being totally drugged by all my sleeping helpers. I also assume this has something to do with a surge of cortisol, but again I don't know. Guest guest
I have exactly the same thing. I can almost work myself up into a manic state where I talk as if I am on stimulants or something similar, simply by getting really involved in a conversation. It usually takes me a long time to be able to return to baseline after such an episode as well, as if my body isnt quite able to regulate its adrenal response properly. . Guest guest
Zippy, I'm get loquacious when I've been taking too much Tyrosine. I also had this problem with Ginseng in the past so nowI know when it's time to discontinue a supplement before my brain goes on overdrive and it's too late. Guest guest
Zippy, I have this to some degree. It's like my body is putting up one last fight before crashing. Sometimes the more wiped out I am, the more I feel revved up, but revved up like a buzzing fly on flypaper about to die. Someone once said that CFIDS is not at all like a state of rest, and I couldn't agree with this more. I rarely feel " restful. " When I'm resting, I'm so uncomfortable and, sometimes, thinking way too much. I sometimes have the talking a lot thing, but mostly, I have nobody to talk to but my walls, and they aren't particularly responsive. It was easier when I had a dog (of course, he would just leave the room if he got annoyed by my ranting). Lately, I've had the opposite. I'm going through a long quiet state. This applies to all areas, including this list. Weird. Peggy
