Guest guest
Dear Zippy, My husband is not a PWC, but he is neurotic about any little speck of light in the room when he is trying to sleep. He finally got a " Budky " sleep mask, which he says is as good as a black out shade - and probably cheaper. He got his at a health food store for about $25.00. http://uncommonscents.com/sleepmasnylt1.html I'm thinking about getting one because it may allow me better quality sleep in the morning. Guest guest
That was me,Zippy. They were easy to find in a hardware store, nbo brand, just your basic rollup window shades, called light blocking, no big installation costs, and if I could afford them most folks could (Under 20.00/window? i don't recall.) You can hang 'em inside the window frame, or above the window. Less accuracy in measuring required for latter. They cut them to size for you free at the store. I think they are just thicker " fabric. " I checked that site; looks like very expensive overkill to me. They really help if you are light sensitive, which I think many/most are. Adrienne. Light Blocking Shades? Someone here posted not long ago that they had purchased some light blocking shades, and liked them very much because they were helping them sleep better. I was wondering, what brand they had gotten, where they got them from, how much they cost, and how hard they were to install? I found these Tracked Light Blocking Shades from North Solar Screen Company. I do not know the price yet, but they look intriquing. http://makeashorterlink.com/?O14342807 Getting more sleep sounds like a good thing for the brain. Guest guest
If you don't mind something strapped to your head. It's already bad enough I sometimes have to use earplugs. Guest guest
I have covered all my bed room windows with white cartons. No single beam of light can enter in.Really helped me a lot. I am also thinking of getting some roll up window shades but I am not sure if they will be better than my solution. Some light my leak in between the separate pieces. My window is quite wide so I might need several installations of shades. Thanks Nil Re: Light Blocking Shades? > That was me,Zippy. Guest guest
Duane Reade has nice sleeping masks for $2.95. They do a good job and I can't sleep without them. You can even wear two at once if you want to block out every least last little speck. :-) That and earplugs.
