Is there a drug interaction between neurontin and melatonin and or Vit B6?

Hello - Does anyone know if melatonin and or vitaB6 reduces the

efficacy of neurontin? I have searched the drug interaction data

bases and am not finding anything. I took the melatonin with my

nighttime dose of neurontin. Yowsa!! Have struck out on

prescription sleep meds, sleepy teas, and valerian root. So thought

the melatonin might work.

I don't know about that, but I do know about Neurontin and Paxil.

I got totally manic and couldn't sleep at all. As soon as I stopped the Paxil,

the pain went away and I slept like a baby.

Might you be taking something else that reacts with the Neurontin?

Thanks Ida. No, I don't think so. Perhaps it's one of the inactive

ingredients like magnesium sterate. The only change is when I took

the melatonin this evening to try to get some sleep. It happened

pretty quickly. The melatonin helped me to fall asleep, but within

an hour, my neurontin dose was gone and the nerve pain woke me up.

So I'm up distracting myself until some more neurontin kicks in. So

much for the sleep. You are up late also.

I use tryptophan it is great for sleeping.

well yes, magnesium can block the effects of neurontin, but was there

enough magnesium sterate to make a difference?
