Magnesium I.V. versus injection (push)?

Hi, is there any difference between a magnesium IV versus a " push " , or

are they the same thing? I was talking with someone who was trying

the IV, without effect, and I recall many years ago I went to a doctor

who did vitamin IV's, but always did a push for magnesium, so I wonder

if the push is more effective or not. Thanks. - Mark
