Guest guest
It was long ago that I recall a few on here mentioning activated charcoal, some including Cheney patients? Can you report what effect, if any it may have had on you? How often was it taken and did Cheney have any opinion on whether it might bind to toxins as well as csm? I intend on eventually trying other binders, not just worshipping csm. Beta sitosterol is probably next but I'd like to learn more about any others out there. Guest guest
, I am not a Cheney patient but have had a lot of experience with the charcoal and bentonite clay. It is my understanding that the charcoal binds toxins in the digestive tract in the moment. It binds whatever it comes in contact with and does not pull it out of the bile as CSM is purported to do. Having very severe digestive problems I find I somtimes have to use the charcoal for a day or two to bind the poisons in my intestines. This is usually when I have eaten something I am allergic to and/or when the food is not digested and " just sits there " making me feel sick. It can be used to carry out the die-off of candida and other dead pathogens. The bentonite is used much the same way and for the same reasons. Again, it binds what it comes in contact with. In the case of the bentonite I used it for years and then it began to make me nauseas (sp?) My nutritiionist told me that the molecules are large and when they pass through the intestines in a leaky gut situation can make one feel quite ill. With both of these substances I was told not to use them too often as they also bind minerals and vitamins. They do not pull nor bind toxins which are already in the body beyond the digestive tract. You are aware of the actions of the CSM - pulling toxins out of the bile after it has been circulated through the body and preventing it from being resorbed into the liver. > It was long ago that I recall a few on here mentioning activated charcoal, > some including Cheney patients? Guest guest
I'm not a Cheney patient either, but I have tried many things that bind up toxins. As I remember, charcoal really didn't do anything for me. (BTW, after my dog ate rat poison the vet gave him a huge dose of charcoal to soak up any leftover poison - so it is used in this way. The dog is fine) About 12 years ago I started taking bentonite colloidal - at one point lots of it. It made a huge difference. When I first started using it - I took it for about a week or two, I quit one day to see what would happen, and was sicker than I ever was. After taking it for several years I quit taking it because it seemed to do nothing. Then I tried NaturGel, which is no longer imported from Russia. I think it may have made me feel a little more clear headed, but more tired. When I could no longer get that, I tried CSM - got it from a compounding pharmacy in PA I think. I could take a whooping 1/32 of a teaspoon. I have finally given up on it for the time being, as I am trying to do the Kane protocol. Not that one excludes the other, but I really didn't think I was gaining anything taking a speck of the stuff a day. As for chorella, I have always tolerated it and have been taking Sun chlorella for a long time. It seems to help my headaches. Another thing that helps my headaches tremendously - today I had such a bad headache and brain fog I couldn't finish a sentence and was driving my husband nuts I was so loopy - butyrate. I think It works on some gut bug. I have to do some homework on that one. If anyone knows what butyrate does, let me know. I feel like I should take a ton a day - but again if I take too much I get totaly wiped out. Don't know if any of this will help. Guest guest
Michele, Butyrate is one of the short-chain fatty acids, and it serves as food for the colonocytes, the cells lining the large intestine. Normally it is produced by bacteria in the gut, using nondigestible fiber as the starting material. Guest guest
I reacted very badly to Charcoal. But then again, I am very sensitive to everthing. Cheney was quite puzzled by my reaction to charcoal, as he said it was one of the most inert substances there was. YMMV, Zippy =========================================== > It was long ago that I recall a few on here mentioning activated charcoal, > some including Cheney patients? Guest guest
Zippy, How did you react to the charcoal? It is one of the most inert substances. I react to most all food and supplements, also. > > It was long ago that I recall a few on here mentioning activated > charcoal, > > some including Cheney patients? Guest guest
Hello , I had my typical reaction of burning skin. Plus, I felt real crummy. ------------------------------------------------- > Zippy, > How did you react to the charcoal? It is one of the most inert > substances. Guest guest
It's awful, to say the least, when we take something that is supposed to be inert and get reactions. I was wondering if you used powdered charcoal. When I first tried charcoal I felt badly and wondered why. Then when I opened the bottle I got a terrible smell. It turns out it was the caps - maybe the chemicals they used to clean the machines (?). I switched to the powder and have had no problem since. No smell and no reactions. I use the product from Millard and , labeled 100% wood charcoal. Also, I don't take more than 1 teaspoon at a time mixed in water. > > Zippy, > > How did you react to the charcoal? Guest guest
Yes, , butyrate is part of the Kane protocol. Since I was not taking it while doing the original 14 IVs, yet still improved, it must be the PC and/or glutathione that helped me most (could also be the detoxx diet too, but that's pretty much how I eat anyway so I attribute my improvement to the IVs more than diet or supplements). Trish P.S. Good news. I found a doctor here in AZ who is eager and willing to resume the IV protocol for me. --- jseaton357@a... wrote: > Sorry if someone has commented on this as I just made a move to miami on Sun > but butyrate is involved in oral portion of Kane protocol, right?
