Guest guest
Hi Carole, Do you have any subclass deficiencies? I dont have any subclass deficiency nor natural killer cell deficiency. I used to have flu symptoms the first 12 years of my illness. For the past 2 years I dont get the low grade fever. Now I might not have lingering infections. I wonder if IVIG might be helpful even if one does not have any active infections. My main symptoms are extreme weakness (where it feels like a big chore to walk from one room to another), fatigue, a lot of cognitive problems, shortness of breath, anxiety, muscle soreness, intense thirst, OI etc. I am doing 20 grams once a week. Insurance has approved me for 12 infusions. The first 5 would be covered 100%. but after that I have to pay 20% which might end up costing a lot of money since I would be doing it every week. I would appreciate if you could tell in what way has it helped you- did it help your immunesystem specifically with regard to fighting infections? or did it help you symptomwise? Appreciate your response, Gayathri. > I have been doing IV Gamma for the past ten years and it has helped me > tremendously. Guest guest
Yes, I am curious how you both got approved for IVIG. It is $800 bottle or something. There are HIV patients in my holistic doc's office who get 2 bottles a week--free (i.e. medicare). ALl of them are doing well on various drugs and IVIG and vitamin and mineral IV. Do you have subclass deficiencies? It can be prescribed if you do. Otherwise how does one make a case for it? > In a message dated 12/16/2003 8:33:36 PM Central Standard Time, > gayu_pwc7@y... writes: > > > with regard to fighting > > infections? or did it help you symptomwise? > > > > > > That is it! > > Carole > > >
Guest guest
IVIG can help people with chronic infections, too. But you can't convince insurers to prescribe it without subclass deficiencies. > In a message dated 12/17/2003 6:01:40 AM Central Standard Time, > jenbooks13@h... writes: > > > Do you have subclass deficiencies? Guest guest
As i mentioned earlier, I dont have subclass deficiencies. I think the neurologist LLMD I went to, used polyneuritis as the code to get it approved. Insurance has approved for 12 infusions. Each infusion costs $4000. This year my insurance woudl pay 100%. I have 2 more infusions to go this year. Next year, I need to pay 20% which will be huge amount. I have had 3 infusions so far and no improvement. I will give it a try for 2 more infusion and then stop it if I dont feel even a bit better. > > In a message dated 12/16/2003 8:33:36 PM Central Standard Time, > > gayu_pwc7@y... writes: > > > > > with regard to fighting > > > infections? or did it help you symptomwise? > > > > > > > > > > That is it! > > > > Carole > > > > > >
