Guest guest
In digging around on the Internet to look for other supplements that act as elastase inhibitors, I kept coming across information about some bioflavanoids being elastase inhibitors. The two most common ones mentioned were pycnogenol from Maritime pine bark, and grape seed extract. (Not grapefruit seed extract!) I should note that my son, who has CFS is helped with his brain fog tremendously from Maritime pine bark extract. But it doesn't seem to do a thing for me. The grape seed extract does make me feel better, though. But I don't think I ever took enough of it to get the levels needed to inhibit elastase sufficiently. Just in case someone is allergic to Botswellin or intolerant to it for some reason, they might consider looking for bioflavanoids that are also elastase inhibitors. But the thought occurred to me that bioflavanoids act as antioxidants, among other things. I'm wondering if glutithione might spare bioflavanoids so that they can be more effective elastase inhibitors. I think I remember reading that pycnogenol helped to spare glutithione, or recycle it or something. lindaj@...
