Guest guest
Hi These have been mentioned to be of interesting value in promoting increased immunologic effect etc and are found to be adhesive in the gut. Anyone out there know if their probiotic formula contains one of these? I think atleast Culturelle has Rhamnosus in it. Lactobasillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) Lactobasillus casei rhamnosus LB 21 Lactococcus lactis L1A Lactobasillus plantarum 299v Per
Guest guest
Yes, I remember the " GG " in Culturelle. And I thought it made a difference. This is a another strain that I used to get from my MD immunologist many years ago and that struck me as especially effective. I haven't heard of it since, and it seems to be not very available. I found this Website http://www.cernitinamerica.com/ventrux.html Here is their pitch for it. (no affiliation): enterococcus faecium VENTRUX-ACIDO Gastro-entero-therapeutics Ventrux helps suppress the growth of pathogenic microorganisms. Ventrux contains special lactic acid-producing bacteria SF68. The lyophilized (freeze-dried) bacteria reach the intestinal tract undamaged. High acid-tolerance of SF68. " Sleeping " in the intestine, the " friendly " bacteria undergo activation. They " awake " and begin to multiply. These " friendlies " grow rapidly and are spread in the whole intestinal tract. Multiplication of SF68 means metabolism; in our case, production of large amounts of lactic acid. The intestinal environment becomes relatively strongly acidified. The growth of " unfriendly " bacteria is suppressed, as they do not easily tolerate an acid environment. The growth of " unfriendly " bacteria (like salmonella and cholstridia " is inhibited thanks to the quick growth and high acid-tolerance of the " friendly " SF68 bacteria. This allows the intestinal tract flora to normalize. Ventrux-Acido An intestinal bioculture formulated to replenish friendly bacteria in the colon. This is a great intestinal aid for dieters, travelers, and anyone on antibiotics. Multiplies faster than acidophilus and other cultures. Each capsule contains a minimum of 75 million lyophilized viable bacteria of the enterococcus faecium strain.
