Guest guest Posted August 19, 2003 Report Share Posted August 19, 2003 hi all, lisa , i also found i had a sensitive area in my mouth and after using a small amount of xylitol mixed with water and swish and hold in my mouth for five minutes at bedtime, it disappered after a few days....i am allready on a toothpaste for senitive teeth as i have alot of gum recession which creates pockets for bacteria and other stuff.....its all realted to being chornically ill with multiple health issues... my last visit to the dentist was one where he said it was the best yet and i had only been using it for few days so not sure if that is it or something else.( only new dental care product) ...i asked my dentist about it and he said it makes u secrete more saliva but he really didnt speciallcally know about it.... thanx great idea lisa. somish. Glad it seems to be helping you. I also found that my sensitive teeth and gums improved after only about a week of using xylitol and I thought it must be a coincidence too but the improvement has persisted so I guess it must be helping. Apparently it stops bacteria adhering to teeth and gums and this gives the teeth/gums a chance to regenerate. The xylitol is also supposed to help teeth remineralise.
