Its supposed to be antibiotic, antifungal, antiviral and loads of other promises, but it just never did anything for me, altho I didn't have any bad reactions to it (other than if you don't get the deoderized you are burping up garlic breathe, LOL) You are taking a higher dose than I've heard of before. Keep us posted on how you do with it. Marcia > > > > > > This list is intended for patients to share personal experiences with each other, not to give medical advice. Guest guest
Hi Gayathri, Glad you asked about garlic. I like to experiment on myself so I took 1/2 bulb per day for 10 days. My intestines turned perfect during this time , my hayfever became permanently zero , and my teeth problems have changed for the better but I don't know what the change was. It appearantly does kill everything except you. I did this by prechewing it with a pair of pliers and taking a swig of vegetable oil , so I wouldn't have to taste it , with a small handful of garlic, I swallowed quick because at this dose it can be rough even if you love garlic. At this dose you will smell of garlic. You will also smell yourself as garlic. Your eyes will be slightly irritated. Even scratch and sniff smells of garlic. It is very strong. At day ten I quit because I gradually became mentally non-functional dead-head style. http://www.karinya.com/garlic.htm This deadhead effect took two days to leave once I stopped the garlic. My nose also dried up for two months and itched even though it's hot and humid and allergy season. After two months it turned into a good nose. I hardly know it's there. AllergyBoy doesn't carry a hankerchief anymore. Various ailments such as asthma , IBS , hayfever have been linked to fungal/yeast... growths which I believe were killed by garlic and was responsible for my successes. Sometimes your immune system needs a helping hand Garlic is poisonous to dogs and cats. It causes red blood cells to burst yielding anemia. I was inspired to try this from this message http://www.geocities.com/GuaiWhey/yeast.htm This plugs my site http://www.geocities.com/GuaiWhey/guait.htm > Hi, > > I have been trying very high doses of garlic for the past 2 weeks. Guest guest
I know I've said this before, but there is one garlic supplement that is light years ahead of all the others. It is called Allimax and contains 180 mg of pure allicin in a patented form -- up to 100 times the amount you get from a standard capsule and the odour is practically undetectable. I've never visited the website but it's given on the pack as www.health-perception.co.uk Don't say you haven't been told :-} Rob
Guest guest
Hi Bob, Thanks for your reply. With the high dose I am taking I feel at times foggy with flu like symptoms. I am assuming its a herx. Zhang in (www.dr-zhang.com) uses his high allicin garlic to help people with lyme disease because garlic seems to be effective against intracellular bacteria and it crosses the blood brain barrier(thats his theory). Some of them have been helped immensely- I read it in lyme-aid group. But he has suggestions about using another herb if someone is intolerant to garlic. I am not very clear as to how to determine that one does not tolerate garlic. Does anyone know? I think Garlic crossing the blood-brain barrier is a good thing since it can kill bugs in the brain. Thanks again for posting your experience. Glad it helped with your allergies. take care Gayathri. > Hi Gayathri, > > Glad you asked about garlic. There is much debate over the inner contents, allin vs alliciin, etc. Perhaps the only way to truly try garlic is fresh actual garlic. It is said if you chop it up first to let it sit for many minutes to let the allicin come out? Something like that. So yeah, I wouldn't bother with Garlinase or Garlique or any " social garlic " /deoderized brands like that that may be taking out what we actually need. Apparently one can't have their cake and eat it too when it comes to garlic.
