I got one answer about other spirochetes out there from a LLMD and here is what they said: That's a good theory-- It could be that the strain of Bb in the south is different from the majority of the cases seen in the Northeast, and this may explain why a patient could test negative on the usual Lyme Western Blot--perhaps the predominant bands are different. In Sweden, the organism responsible for Lyme disease is Borrelia afzeli. You may also want to look up Master's disease, named after someone named Master who is identifying many cases of Lyme in the Midwest.
