Guest guest
I was asked off list to describe my experience with The I.V. antibiotic balls here on the list. Basically, they're awesome! I can't say how much I appreciate being told about them, which gave me the confidence to fight with my pharmacy to get them. It takes approximately 2 3/4 hours for me to take the doxy, and this is so much better than when I was trying to push a drug in an hour or hour and a half. I think that's what made me so sick with the other drugs. Of course, I didn't know this, until researching on the net, that bad reactions call for slower administration rates. Anyway, below is a link to the abx " balls " I'm using. Actually more like a baloon in a small baby bottle, where you can watch the balloon deflate as the medicine is delivered. They have internal automatic pumps which determines the delivery rate through small plastic tubes that connect them to your picc line. The whole thing fits in my pocket. Not only do I feel better with a slower delivery, I'm not tied to the i.v. pole at home when I need to be doing other things. The second link is one that my friend gave me. I think his pharmacy uses those. http://www.opitsourcebook.com/baxter.html http://www.i-flowcorp.com/3_PRODUCTS/IV_DELIVERY_SYSTEMS/eclipse.html penny
