Guest guest
>My DHEA is >always high for some reason I can't work out. ================================================= I have high DHEA too. (thus the need for testing before supplementing). I was told that high DHEA can inhibit GABA in the brain. The result is you feel hyper. Zippy, hyper? No way man. Anyway, the cause of this may be a blocked enzyme, 3-beta-hydroxy- steroid dehydrogenase. This is the enzyme that converts DHEA into androgens in men (don't know about females, I assume it would be the same though). It would seem reasonable to me that mercury could inhibit the action of this enzyme, as I believe it inhibits others as well. At least, this was my suspicion, as my mercury was pretty high via stool test, 70th percentile. That's all I know at this point. Guest guest
, In theory, taking GABA should offset the effects of too high DHEA. On the other hand, unblocking the conversion enzyme is the real key. This could be done by reducing heavy metals? Decreasing infections? If any? They can put out enzyme blocking toxins. Or, by increasing co-factors that drive the enzyme? Whatever they may be? Zinc? B6? Sorry, but I haven't gotten very far with this aspect of things. Guest guest
, Dr Poesnecker says high DHEA is seen at couple of the stages of adrenal exhaustion, check http://www.chronicfatigue.org/ASI.html. You might be at stage 1 or 6.If I remember correctly your cortisol levels were in normal range. So,you might be at stage 6. It is not good to use DHEA or Pregnenolone at this stage. He uses Seriphos and ace to control pituitary overpush of adrenals. Just for your info..
