Guest guest
I experience fatigue, persuasive low blood pressure, ringing in my ears, and chest pains with mild exertion (--even getting out of bed in the morning can bring on these systems, depending on the previous day's activities). After reading just a few textbooks on endocrinology, adrenal fatigue, etc., it has become painfully obvious to even an novice like me that my adrenal glands are putting out insufficient cortisol. My alternative doc is using two adrenal stress tests, using both urine and salvia, to verify this condition. If the test results support the theory, then he has already indicated he will prescribe hydrocortisone to treat the problem. I'm also taking adrenal glandulars, in hopes of rebuilding my adrenals. - don > Hi > > Is it generally agreed that with CFS sufferers in response to > exercise their levels of cortisol fall instead of increase as they > should do. Guest guest
Don, you mention you are taking adrenal glandulars. Could you tell me what kind and are they prescription or available through health stores? Thank you. Anne
Guest guest
Hi Anne, I get my glandulars from www.adrenalfatigue.com. They are a supplement, thus not requiring a prescription. (I also like the fact that they come from pigs not cows--less worry about mad-cow disease). - don > Don, > you mention you are taking adrenal glandulars. Guest guest
Several years ago my doc gave me Cortef. 20 mgs /day in 4 divided doses. I experienced a reduction in pain and increased stamina. But it didn't last. I do think this is another bit of evidence that while the cortisone (or other things) which are part of the picture are tweaked and even have effect that the other things that go into making us sick, when we feel better from the tweaking of one thing, then stir up the other stuff that is causal to our symptoms as well. That's plausable. Not research. But my experience alas. And I didn't go crazy . I was careful even though I haven't always been when feeling better. It just seems. . . . I'm pretty sick now and can';t read or write much and still haven't dealt with all the important tick borne stuff. I have to get more rest and feel stronger physically and then cognitively and emotionally to face that ball of wax.
